they don't creep me out what i don't like about them is that they don't do as much. I think dogs are just more playful.

Yes, but has anyone else noticed the very stereotypical alien shaped head a cat has? That amongst other things, like cats just staring at you for hours creeps me the hell out.

My family has always owned dogs, especially those who lived the closest. I barely recall anyone with cats, though there were plenty of strays in our apartment's garden.
And there are always a lot of stray dogs and cats in Turkish streets. At least in Istanbul.

Besides, you have a choice with dogs. Personality-wise (different breeds, or seen in shelters) of course, but also with size and strength.
A strong dog to guard your house, a rather big one to snuggle and fight, a middle-sized one if you prefer it easy, or a small one if you can't handle something larger.

I think dogs are just more playful.

Some cats are pretty playful, but I've observed that they just tend to be elusive.
They prefer... cat and mouse games. With the cat as the mouse. O.o

If you're gonna throw a toy for your pet to fetch:
- dog: runs to it, searches if necessary, grabs it, runs back to owner, and lets the owner take it; repeatcycle
- cat: runs to it, searches if necessary, grabs it, creeps off under the most unreachable corner; endcycle

I can never decide...for one reason IT DEPENDS ON THE CAT/DOG THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT lol people never realize this

DOG FTW!! I've always wanted a dog not like as a stupid little kiddie dream though, I've always wanted a proper pet (yes, that excludes the many goldfish I've had). I would hate to have a cat, they're always outside and when they're inside, they just claw at all the furniture :/ cats suck XD

I have a cat and a dog who live together in my yard, right outside my house. (I never let 'em in.)

I used to be a cat person, but when I got my cat and a dog, my view somewhat changed. Oh, I also have a small allergy to cats. (Can't get them near my face -.-)

My cat is an american short hair... (I think.)
My dog is a german shepard and Rottweiler mix.

Dogs.
My next door neighbors cat killed my guinea pigs last year. I remember meeting a cat once, I can say that my guinea pigs have more affection in a foot then those things have in their whole body. Guinea pigs may love you for food. But they ACT like they love you for other reasons.
