The Dev Kit is LOADED with RAM but the GPU is heavily rumored to be Extremely Similar to the AMD Radeon HD 6670. This GPU was also rumored to be used in the Wii U making them on Par in Power however after the Ubisoft leak;

http://www.mobilemag...price-and-date/

The GPU is an AMD Radeon HD 6770 which, in comparison to the Xbox 720's:
http://www.hwcompare...radeon-hd-6770/

Wii U would out-perform XBOX 720 Graphics wise. Take that Nintendo trolls!

Now let's forget that these are all rumors and speculation.

Ubisoft leak was proven bogus if I recall correctly.

There is no way Microsoft would provide that much ram without processors actually capable of USING the majority of it for gameplay.

Unless next box freaking has windows 7 as its os or something.

This, however does line up pretty well with whatvIve been thinking. X86 based cpu, yes indeedy. Pretty good gpu.

They are just place holders though, I wouldnt expect these stock components in the final box, but similar processors customised to ms's desires.

But, good info and fun post, thanks.

I am always VERY skeptical about anything to do with the next Xbox or PS4, especially if it's coming from IGN. They've been posting garbage about "Xbox 720" for over a year now.

And I'm not trusting the one about Wii U either, because it says its release would be on Nov 23, a Friday, when Nintendo almost ALWAYS releases on Sundays.

That would be cool, however much like the Wii U dev kit it is going to see some great improvements before we actually see the release. I think it will probably get released and be more powerful that the Wii U, but not by much.

Be wary, the suck is coming.

I wouldnt worry about ign screwing up this one. They are just parroting info, and this checks out on multiple levels.

Unlike when they reported the original durango specs, the 16 core power pc, which was laughably a forum poster doing a copy paste of blue genes wiki page.

Who said Microsoft was going to use the ram for games.

Not all of it. Just the majority. It is a game system, and 8GB of ram for pc games on 64bit os's is pretty common.

But that much ram for that kind of a processor family IN a console is a little.... Silly.

Unless its like, running windows 7 as an os or something.

So that means that the task of making a super-duper-hyper-epicz console is in the hands of Sony?

They would use it for Windows 8 and other media stuff.

Even if this is all fake, I still think that the possibility of this is actually quite amazing. Go Nintendo!!

Not entirely.. Lately we just learned that wii U is able to make 1080p at 60fps games... For example if assassins creed 3 is 1080p and 50-60 fps... with 2xaa then its more likely a modified 6770. my personal opinion...

Well at least, I did good that I stopped reading rumors, but the statement that the best of 360 and ps3, can run flawless at 60fps and 1080p native.. and with much better textures, and not even the half processing power of wii U, satisfies me..

You're late,

The Wii U is supposedly based on the 4770.

I saw this too. Rumor is the next xbox will need a big chunk of ram to have there OS (most likely windows8) running at all times. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Dev kits usually have double the ram that the console will originally have so they can run and tweak certain things as well.

The 4770 info is antedeluvian.

It may have been in very early test hardware. But it's not there now.

Just read the df source article.

The author guesses that the 8core intel cpu 'must surely be' a freaking atom?

Surely hes joking right?

lol wtf?

Hes either joking or he is the WORST speculator I have EVER seen.
