IMO NSMBU only because its bringing back Super Mario World things and that game is the best mario sidescrolling

If you're a Nintendo fan, which I assume you are, and you have IRL friends that will play with you then NSMBU would be the way to go I'd say. The having to control Murfy in Rayman Legends has put me off a little but I'll get a go with it tomorrow hopefully at EB Expo.

Im trying to get a ticket as we speak, might try and get to the twilight session tonight.

I think both look really cool. But wait until reviews come out and unless NSMBU does something new or different that no other Mario sidescroller has done before get Rayman Legends

Yeah, but HD PLUS the baby yoshi's are returning PLUS the Super Mario World map that hasn't been in ANY Mario game since. Those reasons alone is why you should get NSMBU.

I agree with this. It's basically SMW3, and we all know how good SMW was. This seems to be the most promising 2D Mario game since, even though it's not as surprising anymore. No matter how much I love 2D Rayman games, Mario still beats the crap out of everything.

At first mario u looked kinda lousy and uber generic.

But re ent videos make it look gorgeous.

And legends always looked great.

I'm thinking Rayman will be better. I never played origins and I never played all the way through a New Super Mario Bros. but Rayman definitey looks to have the better multiplayer. There are more modes plus online(If that's still in after the concept video?) but the singleplayer I'm not too sure about. Rayman Legends seems to be built more around multiplayer. Regardless Rayman has been delayed so oh well.

Cant really go wrong with mario i suppose, seems like a safe investment, not really a game you will have super expectations for and then get utterly dissappointed, you kinda already know what your getting, so for that id go with mario....

Gotta support the Big N so it will choke out all other 3rd parties so they wont bring games to the console... thats the Nintendo way right?

Well, NSMBU is pretty much the sequel to Super Mario World, plus it has the chaotic yet fun multiplayer from NSMBW, Boost Rush Mode, Challenge Stages, and seems to be built around speedrunning. But rayman has those music stages, 5 player support, and better use of the gamepad. But since Rayman got delayed, you have more of a chance to get both.

Rayman.. Recent games in this series have given Nintendo a run for their money. They have been incredibly beautiful and innovative in ways recent Mario games have been lacking in. For that reason, I pick Rayman over NSMBU. Though, it comes down to pure preference in the end. If you enjoyed the NSMB titles, then the choice is obvious.
