I have wanted a Wii U before it was the Wii U. When Nintendo announced the Revolution, oh those years ago, I wanted a Wii U (lol I wish I was joking). But now that it is in my hands -- do I still want it, or do I want what is next?

Well, I love it, and I can't see how Nintendo can improve the Wii U. Now do NOT take this meaning the Wii U is perfect, far from it. Waiting over an hour, having to restart Wii U Update (Does the U stand for "Update"?), was annoying however I fell in love with a save feature -- if your internet does go out, and mine did, you restart right where you left off. Amazing!

Then I found out I had to update for Netflix, Youtube and Hulu Plus -- which is being cancelled, because it sucks. I tried to watch it and bam lost internet. Now, sure, may not be Hulu Plus -- but my Wii app does the samething, so I am not willing to pay 7.99 for a glitchy product. I didn't play around a lot with these apps, I wanted to play Black Ops 2 (which I love), but from what I see the Netflix menu is improved -- and that is a good thing. The Wii Menu, while amazing for Netflix, needed an HD Update, and this is what Netflix has done for the Wii Update (haha).

Black Ops 2 is amazing. I have never enjoyed any Call of Duty games, but this one I felt a need to play. It wasn't just a war game -- it has a pretty good story line. In the first mission it makes me think of a friend who is in the army. I'm like wow, this is what he does -- in real life. The graphics are very good. I am impressed. It may not be better then the 360 versions ... I don't know. I hopefully will soon.

All in all, the setup was easy even though it took forever. In the future, Nintendo, if you are listening - don't be in a rush and do these updates for your customer. It would be such a better experiance. Even better, make it a background task while you play your game. If you didn't have to sit there while the OS updated, the Wii U experiance would be improved greatly.

Even with the wait, the updates, the wait, the updates, the game was worth it. I honestly can't wait until I play it again. If I didn't work in the morning, I totally would still be playing it.

Anyway fella's, good night.

Im still waiting on getting one, hopefully i can pick one up at Kmart while there still cheap.

You do know that you could have just pressed cancel on the update and it would have just downloaded it in the background, not trying to be a smart a** or anything.
Also, did you only buy Black Ops 2 or did you buy some other games, if so could you tell us your opinions :)

I'm really enjoying this console thus far. Like everyone else, particularly MiiVerse. It's like Facebook sans the overused quotes, depressed people and hipster culture.

Actually no, I didnt know that. I only bought Black Ops because Kmart was sold out on the other games. I might buy Mickey for my son. But he may not be ready for that type of game.

But ill say it again, Black Ops 2 is awesome. I ended up playing it until 3AM, a mistake I am now regretting lol.

Also, I think Nintendo is really showing up everyone else. Where MS Xbox and PS3 can barely push out 1080p, we know the Wii U can do that no problem. And Nintendo included an HDMI cable, where the others make you buy one. Nintendo clearly is going HD and making it easy to do so.

It was a good move on Nintendo's part to package a HDMI cable as supposedly this is the hd generation... Something perhaps the ps3 should have come with as that did claim to be at the forefront of the hd revolution yet came packaged with a normal av cable...
I know I won't be able to get my son off the console when he comes down next! :D

Glad you're enjoying the Wii U - I also love it and have been playing quite a bit. I have no doubt that Nintendo will roll out future OS updates which will make the system even better. It can only grow from here. I had an idea what the Wii U would be like before it launched,...and an idea of what I hoped it would be like...needless to say it lived up and beyond to my expectations. Heres to many long years of gaming goodness on the Wii U! Cheers!

It's hardly fair to compare the Wii U to the PS3 and Xbox 360. They are both last generation consoles and 6-7 years old. Of course the Wii U is going to do some things a lot better. That said one should reserve judgement on its 1080p capabilities. What Nintendo promises and what they actually deliver may be two different things. Just because the console can technically do 1080p doesn't mean that in practice it will be work smoothly. It may well be that in order to get 1080p there may have to be sacrifices in areas such as frame rate. I do agree that an HDMI cable should be standard in an HD console and both the PS3 and Xbox 360 should include them. At the end of the day though how good the Wii U's HD capabilities are remain to be seen.

In this case, I was mainly talking about how Nintendo included sn HDMI cable. I agree that it is possible Nintendo says it can do 1080p natively and it cant, but what we know of the GPU i wouldn't put it past the console. And I sm sorry, but I will not give MS and especially Sony a pass on not including HDMI with the console. Paying up to 600 and having to spend an extra ten to fifty dollars on a cord is just greedy. Nintendo however included it. This is like getting an HD cable box and the tech connects it with a coaxil. My dad had that happen. He told me he cpuldnt tell what HD was, then I fixed the problem.

Its just high way robbery.

Glad you are enjoying the Wii U. I have been a diehard nintendo fan since 1985 when the NES came out. I have not been this excited for nintendo since I bought my first console with my own money(N64). Has you said its not perfect, but it is new technology for nintendo. I do agree they did a great job and I love my Wii U. MiiVerse is awesome, I like the social aspect of gaming, it makes gaming new and fresh. Way to go Nintendo!!!!!
