Seems to me the parents are making a big deal. They should of just deleted the images and went on with their day.

Getting it used is kind of low though.

Oh come on, I bet the kid doesn't even remember what it looked like. He is 5 years old, he won't remember it.

They're acting like he saw someone get cut open.

And this is why;

1.) I never buy ANYTHING used.
2.) I never buy ANYTHING from GameStop.

Was it used? Because GameStop employees are supposed to format all used systems and SD cards. I've seen the employees at my GS do this with every system that's traded. Now if the employees themselves did it then they just need to be fired among other things. Moving on, come on it's just some beewbs and intercourse he's going to see it at one point or another and a good chance is in about 6 years maybe sooner when he starts looking at porn intentionally. before you know it they're going to catch him waking off in his room and or bathroom, ah they grow up so fast.

That's not funny.

In all seriousness I think it's rather dumb of gamestop to not remove the files on the 3DS to factory settings.

I find it hilarious. Seriously the kid is going to find out soon enough 'what goes on' yeah it shouldn't have happened but it's not like he was sexually assaulted or something terrible like that.

Hasn't this happened three or four times already?
Each Christmas this same old story surfaces, I assume it's not the same kid every year, but it's very common for gamestop not to check the sd card in consoles.

So you're saying he's going to be looking at porn at the age of 11? :laugh:

@People blaming only GameStop and/or employees:
It may be a policy, and LameStop needs to check & format the things. Yet the parents should be considered just as responsible. Being as it was a unpackaged device that all they had to do is format or take the SD card out. Wouldn't this be wise to do regardless to possibly set parental controls on the device? Considering the guy is supposedly so worried about his child's well-being. Heck with a none restricted device the kid could play higher rated games or even searched the internet (be it on a dare or by his own accord). Anyway, don't get me wrong, you can raise your children however you wish. Though, if you're so concerned about the things the see, learn, et cetera in a set of time frame you should always be ready to take the extra steps. Because these things are not going to be turned on by default. Even if it means opening the box to mess with a new device beforehand.

So you're saying he's going to be looking at porn at the age of 11? :laugh:

The kid had older brothers that could have just as easily accessed the 3DS. Got on the internet and left a history trail for the little guy to follow. Heck the kid could get on the internet browser and something such as Ask, Yahoo, Bing, Google, et cetera to type the word "suck" as in a game and/or clicks on images. The correct words can mean no harm, but lead to harm per se. Of course each search engine will have it's similar or different results to each other, but I am sure some lead to worse subjects than others. Considering how some search engines find there results.

As far as kids go, well when I was one younger than him I learned every curse word in the book and basically all the meanings in Kindergarten. Always had that one or two kids that learned a new subject from a brother, parent, or whatever. Of course in those days we did not have internet like we do now and then later it turned into stuff like AOHell, MSNoLine, or EarthQuake Link dial up services (I joke with the names of course. Being as dial up could be a pain). Where you basically used the applications for search engines (Specially AOL) for the most part. Then you could see the same search results from everyone & said admin accounts were in charge. Now people get the whole DSL or Cable modems and have no clue even how to manage their network or put any said blocking on it be it modem or OS related as they have to take more steps so it turns into staying ignorant to the knowledge as they just wanted to be lazy. My overall point being, everything could be accessible not even trying, specially on what you're searching with. It is really up to the parent if they truly want to safe guard their child or not. Though if they are not going to take the steps you can't really one-hundred percent blame the service that was provided to you, when the parental control options are there if you take the time.
