Didn't Miyamoto say he wants to take on a somewhat smaller role in the company? He still wants to develop games, but I think he wants to focus on smaller projects with younger developers.

I do think it's time we see a new original Nintendo IP from this man, sortof a Swan Song before his retirement somethig he pass on to a new generation of programmers.

we all must be very gratefully for the things he has created. yet in the last couple of years he seems to be a bit too much into creating games for everyone. this results in game which are sometimes not really for us because they are too thumbed down and too simple.
That point is no problem at all for as long as we can identify these titles as casual stuff (wiimusic) it won't matter too much. But, as with StickerStar, removing the deeper rpg-esque gameplay, a completer story etc, for the sake (do I write it like that?) of simplicity and to target it to a broader audience, then it becomes a problem. I don't mind a game having the simplest as possible controls as long as the real gameplay is not effected. Lately I feel that Miyamoto is sacrificing just that, gameplay for simplicity. Recognising the thin line between those two was one of the strongest points of the man. Combined with a strong drive for innovation and design made the man a legend, and I am still a fan, but we don't have to be blind. There have been some strange decisions lately.

Skyward sword is the best zelda ive ever played.

The games layout was hardware restrictions, not design choices. Skyward sword being more action oriented was far more cpu demanding than xenoblade, you couldnt have skyward swords enemy ai/environment ai/combat mechanics in xenoblade, because xenoblade was using those cpu resources culling the massive environments so the gpu could actually display the amazing views it did.

Also, this argument is under the erroneous notion that miyamoto has never made mistakes, or games that were recieved 'poorly' (though i dont think wii musics 7 million+ sales can be considered bad) or not taken off before the wii generation.

Its an argument that relies on ignorance for its premise to be true. Thats a logical fallacy.

Shiguru Miyamoto is just a man, and he made just as many 'mistakes' back then, as he did now. The difference is the complainers were different then, they didnt care about these things, they likely lacked the capacity to because of their age, but are now older, and have failed to pick apart 'old' miyamoto, like they are 'new' miyamoto.

Miyamoto always said he could make "Halo". I'd like to see what his perspective would be on a FPS IP.

He said that in one single solitary interview, you dont need to sensationalize.

Weve seen his perspective on first person power armored shooters, and while i loved it, I felt it was a little too zeldalike, However it spent 5 years as the highest ranked game (with more than 30 reviews) of all time, and is still higher ranked than any halo game.

And this is coming from a huge halo fan.

He stepped down from his EAD General Manager position back in December, so he has in a way.

I think he's talking about Metroid Prime. Other than that, no idea.

Yes, Shiguru Miyamoto was in charge of retro for metroid prime. You should read their interviews about him, they are quite the amusing read.

Lol, they all thought he was insane and that he hated everything they did... Until prime began to come together and they all said it just 'clicked'.

Unfortunately, not everything can come together and 'click' everytime.

But your argument about miyamoto 'losing his touch' is a logical fallacy called begging the question, it relies on the premise provided by the arguer to be true, in this case the premise being miyamoto never made a mistake, or a game that didnt take off into a mega success before wii, which is false.

He made just as many mistakes then as now. So no, hes not losing his touch, hes human.

I would like to see Miyamoto create a FPS for Wii U. He has said on multiple occaions that he enjoys the genre. It was his idea to make Metroid Prime first person, and he even wanted Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess to be in first person at one point. I think he could revolutionize the genre, as well as create a graphical powerhouse and robust online for the Wii U.

i do beleave he can make atleast a decent campain.

the multyplayer, somewhat doubtful, he will probly do fine in a horde like mode and some weapons/vehicals, and maps. but id want to see a larger group working together for the multyplayer setup.

Of course not by himself; that would be impossible nowadays. I just want him to be the main developer behind it all.

Yes he is. What he does know how to do is appeal to the casual gaming audience and that is exactly what the Nintendo of today does best. I suppose if you put it that way he isn't out of touch since the majority of gamers today are casuals.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

i mean not him as main guy on multy. id rather have the group come up wiht the desisiongs of weapon balance, vehical balance, map design ect. not one guy's opionoin. like id go for as much veriety as possible as the main point, then balance as the second main point. instead of balancing the game with 20 versions of the same thing, and still end up with one that is OP.
