Posted by esper on 01 July 2012 - 01:28 AM
The Game startion podcast is something I occasionally listen to. I was going through a backlog of thier episodes and I came across this one. While I don't agree on many of the issues they discuss I believe that they brought up many things to talk about. Here is the link the point to really start listening is at 2:00:40.

#61106 What is Nintendo hiding?
Posted by esper on 11 February 2012 - 07:40 PM
Just to be clear, Gamecube was the most powerful console of that generation... what were they laughed at for?
I dont think it was specs, I think it was polygons. Sony said the PlayStation 2 coul run ?00,000 polygons, Microsoft said the Xbox could run ?00,000 polygons and Nintendo said the Gamecube could run ?0,000 polygons.
People laughed at the difference in number but what people didn't know was that Sony and Microsoft gave out polygons and only polygons, Nintendo factured in things life lighting and textures and came to that number.

#49989 Is "Wii U" the console's final name?

I'm ok with it. Them sticking with wii for brand recognition will probably help but turn off some "hardcore" buyers. I'm hoping they change it to wii ultra or ultra wii.
