#100403 I want Zelda U to have motion controls
Posted by Guest on 18 August 2012 - 03:32 AM
NO
no no no no no no no no no no no
motion controls is the reason I chose to get the gamecube version of Twilight Princess and also the reason I feel Skyward Sword isn't the best Zelda game
just no
Totally agree. My wife and I thought because of motion controls SS was the worst Zelda game we have played(after having played all of them). If they do have motion controls they need to support traditional controls via gamepad pro controller

#91086 Super Mario Galaxy 3
Posted by Hank Hill on 01 July 2012 - 05:53 AM
Super Mario Galaxy 1 was a great game, had more story beyond the usual "save the princess" and had a more enjoyable hub world.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 felt more like an expansion pack than a stand alone game, not that great of a hub world, and was totally undeserving of a perfect 10/10.
I'd rather see a more original 3D Mario title come out for the Wii U.

#89457 Well that Nintendo Direct was a bit disappointing...
Posted by Hank Hill on 22 June 2012 - 04:08 PM
I honestly thought the Nintendo Direct was great. We got a status update on SSB4, a general release date for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask for North America, official confirmation that Fire Emblem 3DS is headed to North America, eShop discounts (more to come, I'm sure), the announcement of two 3DS Virtual Console titles to be released each week, as well as more details on Pokemon Dream Radar and Pokedex Pro.
Just because you were expecting Wii U news (even though they said the conference is for Wii, DS, and 3DS news only) doesn't make this a bad conference. I thought it was full of good news and information.

#88275 Iwata: The PlayStation 4 and Next Xbox won't be a huge leap in power
Posted by Usman Mohammad on 17 June 2012 - 10:42 AM
The reason for the disagreement is that UE4, Samaritan Demo, Star Wars 1313 and Agni's Philosophy clearly show stellar graphics quality, all but agni's philosphy confirmed to be running on a single GTX 680. I can see the other next consoles running a GTX660 or 670, which have near enough performance but with significantly lower price points. Also considering that they have good ties with GPU makers, they can easily have a bargain price on the those chips. These consoles are to hit end of 2013, by then the prices of these GPUs will significantly decrease to pretty much what a 560Ti costs now.Exactly what I was thinking
Only time will tell and it really depends on what the competition does, if one follows Nintendo and launches a current mid ranged speced console then next gen will be shorter, however if they launch with 660s 670s then Nintendo is clearly left behind in sheer computing power, like they are this gen.
We're Nintendo fans but you really can't ignore something that's in such a big flux at the moment. There's two arguements:
Pro Nintendo: Iwata is in a pretty good position to be able to talk about the specs of his console and how they will compare to others considering he actually knows the specs instead of us just guessing at them.
Con Nintendo: Nintendo has not developed in HD, they were late to the game, it wasn't just graphics but everything about the system, they didn't see online gaming being as big, they didn't see the need for mass storage (remember laurent fisher saying only Otaku's needed more space). The single player games were good, but as an overall package it just did the very basics of what the other current gen consoles offer. Iwata is in no place to say where the other consoles go because he couldn't see where trends were going back when the Wii launched.
Devil's advocate again because we really need to stop giving Nintendo a pass just because we're fans, I like Microsoft and Sony too, but I hate Xbox because don't give that a single pass because they've had too many chances. Nintendo really has to pick up, and this is from the information WE HAVE NOW, no looking to the future that they will do everything in summer conference or next year when the Wii U is mature and retro's game is out. That is giving them a pass and seriously stop giving them a pass, it's Nintendo they magically come through somehow and probably will again but that still doesn't mean we can be easy on them.
I'm coming from a very broad perspective that is seeing the industry as a whole, this could either be another Wii (less powerful, no big multiplat new IPs) or a silly ponying of game enhancements( which can be a good thing considering games are expensive to develop and better visuals etc means more work. The break even point of units sold would have to increase aswell, so that could be a good thing for the silly ponyation of better AI,graphics, rendering(more things on screen, schedules etc). However UE4 makes developing games much easier than UE3, so that's another counter arguement that engines are becoming more streamlined and efficient that less people and time is required to develop games as general developing software does a lot more work automatically (think windows XP where you had install driver disks or tell it to install from windows update, now Windows 7 just gets the drivers automatically with out any user input).

#89245 Crytek: Wii U is 'minimum as powerful as Xbox 360'
Posted by The Lonely Koopa on 21 June 2012 - 12:38 PM
they said it runs on iphone and pc and everything between, ie. ps3 and xbox360
I feel your confused with what he said and assume it would also mean these 2 consoles. He was asked if it would adventually run on IOS devices and he said certainly. Now a Average person would think oh that would mean 360 and ps3 support confirmed but you are getting ahead of yourself . Unreal Engine 4 at this moment is not in use anywhere and its to be assumed because of that Unreal Engine 4 will be available to newer Versions of Apple IOS devices.
Its also safe to remember sometimes its not how powerful something is as much as how new something is and the capabilities of something made with newer tech even if it is slightly weaker than some older hardware(xbox 360 and ps3). Overall I feel your taking to much thought into a quick second response in a interview since yes it will come to IOS when who knows but I assume newer IOS devices a year from now(which would be the time when it jumps ahead of the ps3 and 360 as well as coupled with much newer tech) when it is thought Unreal engine 4 will start being used .

#89044 Crytek: Wii U is 'minimum as powerful as Xbox 360'

Unreal 4 hasn't been released yet lol. It's a next gen engine that can only be ran by a 2011 level GPU. Call ME when you learn something about technology. Just because I am trying to be realistic and keep your hype levels in check doesn't mean you can start insulting me. I insulted nobody. Just because I said something that disagrees with your point of view I get insulted? Grow up dude.UE4 also runs on xbox360 and ps3 downscaled. call me when u actually know something about technology
