It's the best handheld shooter ever.....first or third person.

The idea of playing any of three protagonists while the lives of the other two go on at the same time make this a completely fresh experience. Count me in big time.

I wish the media would declare Pachter dead. The guy is actually a bigger hack than Skip Bayliss and that is saying a lot.

I understand and agree with you, I am a Fifa fan myself. Grew up playing soccer as a kid and loved the fifa games on my genesis. I am looking forward to Bayonetta and Wonderful 101, and Pikimin 3..., plus others. I think in a year or so the Wii U Library of games will be on par with the 3DS, and that little handheld has an impressive list of GREAT games.
Well I definitely appreciate the positive outlook, and because of Nintendo I now have a kick ass gaming PC. I never would have pulled the trigger otherwise

That's because it's the media, doing what they do best. Many of those stories are based off a simple tweet from the one developer or publisher who said Frostbite 3 engine cannot or was not running well on Wii U. So bloggers and news sites picked this up and wrote a story about it. Many of the stories running on the popular tech and gaming sites are from that simple tweet which was twisted and taken out of context which happens way too often. These "reporters" are so quick to release a story of bad news just to get hits instead of doing a bit more research to understand things.
The other bit of news appearing lately was the developer saying the Wii U is collecting dust and the excuses were, small install base and it was hard contacting Nintendo.
It's a users job to read and research to get a more in depth view as to what is really going on. These articles make it seem like the Wii U is getting no 3rd party games, and that of course is no where near the truth.
In the minds of many in the "news" world, it isn't a story unless you can find something bad or negative within it. Much of the time bad news trumps good news.
I know the reality of the situation, and just like the past couple console generations I'm going to be able to find third party stuff that is catered to the Nintendo experience. I'm certainly not Daisying about getting games like Lego City, Bayonetta, and Wonderful 101. Those are awesome games that I would have never wanted to miss out on. I guess before I bought my Wii U I was really hoping that the recent trend would stop and I could just use my Nintendo machine for Nintendo exclusives and the very few "big games" that I enjoy. I can't stand EA, but I will never be able to give up my yearly FIFA game....I guess that news really took it's toll on me.

Ah gotcha I was late to the party, and actually you are correct about Sony. It won't be hard for me to fight off MS in this generation, but fighting off the PS4 will be tough because of exclusives. The only place that I gave 360 and advantage over Nintendo and PS3 in the last generation as far as my gaming needs was with the selection of indie titles, but luckily Steam puts those to shame.

I own an Xbox 360. Xbox LIVE doesn't have anything on it that really puts itself above the other 2 besides cross-game chat. I honestly feel like $60 goes to waste each year JUST so I can play with friends online.
As for Kinect, it's just a more advanced EyeToy.
Seriously. I have always thought that Xbox Live just has more bells and whistles than the other free online services of it's competitors and it should since you are paying for it. However, to say that MS is innovative because of Live is total BS. Innovative and rehash are the two most over used words in the video game industry.

The rehash argument is getting really tired. Each of the big three is just as guilty as the others because people keep buying them. I get sick of people constantly acting like Nintendo is any more guilty than MS or Sony at milking their franchises. Nintendo fans rejoice because things could be way way worse....you could be Xbox fans and have next to no good exclusives.

First... who cares about the PS4. It's like getting excited about buying a 3 year old computer. My money is on the Xbox 720 if anything. At least Microsoft tries to innovate.
Second... Let's go through some of the "Wii U" saving games you mentioned:
Yoshi's Yarn - Oh wow Nintendo, another Yoshi platformer. Haven't seen that before
Wind Waker HD - Oh wow Nintendo, bringing a gamecube game to the HD world! Way to innovate.
A new 3D Mario Game! - Is this 1996?
Mario Kart U - Do I even need to say anything?
Smash Bros 4 - Stop it with the sequels... PLEASE
The same old tired franchises being used OVER and OVER again which are basically cliché’s of themselves.
If this is your idea of Nintendo's saving grace... then you are in for a rude awakening.
Stop making Smash Brothers? I'm certainly glad that you are not running the show at Big N. Seriously, why are you spewing this garbage on a fan site? Isn't that what the IGN forums are for?

MH3U was a launch game though. And yea, ports generally aren't gonna boost sales significantly.

Nintendo should focus on the pro controller as their standard controller. They would probably even make more money if they promoted additional gameplay features if you bought a gamepad for the gimmicky perihperal that it should be.
