#289358 Zelda U graphics thoughts

Posted by Dharmanator on 10 June 2014 - 10:14 AM

Another thing I like about this style is the fact when people go for a more realistic look it always falls flat.

I like the feel when you are basically controlling a cartoon.

Feels less like a game and more like an experience.

Hard to explain but maybe someone knows what I mean.

Look at Link's face.. and that enemy... it doesn't feel like Zelda at all...

But that scenery, holy rainbow. It's all I've ever wanted in a Zelda game.

I'm confused but excited.

As someone who has played Zelda since the NES days I can only share my thought that it feels very Zelda like to me.

This series has always changed its art style based on what they have for hardware really.

I saw a lone adventurer in a vast land being attacked by a what-the-hell.

What more do you need?

Oh.  And he had a tunic and arrow.

I am sold.

Special edition for me please.

Holy gosh dang darn hellfire.

This looks absolutely awesome.

This will be controversial like WW for sure.  I for one love the style and cel shaded look.  Very vibrant and alive.

Well done Nintendo.  Plus the arrow looks awesome.

All right, Sweden is not a large market, but this is still good news. It did sell well in the UK as well.

Everyone is depressed after the gold medal hockey match.  Depression makes you buy weird stuff.

I can only assume the same thing happened after the good medal curling match for GB.

Wow Canada owned bothy y'all.

Just kidding.  The US couldn't be bothered to beat hockey powerhouse Finland.

#256703 Will the Wii U survive next-gen

Posted by Dharmanator on 17 November 2013 - 03:13 PM

that got defensive very quick. for better games i was talking about right now, i know it had worse games at launch but wiiU has a better line up atm.  sales fegures is something everyone expected, but i do expect alot of people to complain expecting sonys BS 16mil number and similar. killzone from everything i heard and seen ended up as a generic shooter. Knack ended up as a platformer showing graphics, with little artistic value, and comparably lower gameplay quality to many platformers.

Micheal Packher, however you spell is name, not yet realizing the exact opposite of what he says always come true guarentting 9mil wiiU's sold. just for the spike to end when the wiiU ends its lifecycle as the second legand of zelda is released on wiiU (windwaker was first) do to the tradition of zelda marking the beginning and end of every nintendo consul.

Sorry if I came out to strong.  I have a strong opinion on the Wii U and the place Nintendo has created for itself in the market place.

I love the Wii U. I wanted it to succeed and be better then it is. But right now I see it as a 3 rd place console at about 20-30 million lifetime sales.  This is fine.  It is a second console for most and for 1st party games. Any mm idea that it will compete with PS or Xbone is fantasy.

#256008 Wii U, The Worst Holiday Gift This Season.

Posted by Dharmanator on 13 November 2013 - 10:44 AM

^^^You are in for a treat, Mario bros u, zombiu, lego city, picmen, windwalker, Mario 3d, just some great games to keep you happy, and remember with the wii-u you also get a wii built in to allow you access to some classic games like paper mario and mario galaxy, zelda, wii resort.

You forgot Wonderful 101!

#253962 Assassin creed 4 is out on wii u if anybody noticed.

Posted by Dharmanator on 31 October 2013 - 11:55 AM

Dunno if anyone posted this image yet but the 360 looks worst and the wii u looks pretty similar to ps4 apart from ground textures.zy0u.jpg

Not sure what you are seeing.  The Wii U and 360 look identical to me.  The PS4 has much more detail. I would bet the Wii U will be like the 360 but with better draw distances, less tearing etc.

#252926 Rumor: Nintendo bringing “Super Mario 64 reUmagined” and other updated classics

Posted by Dharmanator on 24 October 2013 - 06:48 AM

This is the worst idea ever.  Hearing this kind of stuff is what makes me dislike my Wii U. The idea that any effort could be put into such nonsense is concerning.

We need games like X, W101, Bayonetta 2.

Be original Nintendo!

#252143 What if... (About Wii U's Holiday Line Up)

Posted by Dharmanator on 19 October 2013 - 11:31 AM

Sort of.  I originally had a deluxe model that I sold so I could buy the Wind Waker bundle.  Then recently on Craigslist I found a really good deal on a white 8gb system with about 5 games that was priced low enough to justify buying it and then reselling the console to keep the games at basically no cost.  So there I was "investing" a little money to get some free games.  I got that money back.

Some how this reminds me of that Vietnamese guy in the 80's who had that infomercial about buying houses with credit cards and flipping them for huge profits.

Ok. Not really.  But he did make me laugh.

#251809 Best Buy Wii U Display No More....

Posted by Dharmanator on 17 October 2013 - 09:42 AM

It's down to lack of sales, 3400 world wide in the space of one month means its not worth the shelf space!

No way on earth Nintendo can turn this ound now. :-(

Depends on what you mean by turn around.  You can forget 100 million units.

But when games come out people want to actually play I can see a healthy 20-30 million units.  That is all the need.

Wii U will be a first party only machine.  But it will work

#246002 UnchainedGoku has a serious loss of value problem!

Posted by Dharmanator on 14 September 2013 - 03:59 PM

Nobody wants to buy a Wii U because people don't believe in the value proposition that Nintendo gave to the consumer.

The PS4 and Xbox One will also have a limited library of games available at launch, with most of them becoming available on last generation systems too. The difference here is that the consumer believes that the value of these systems, with more games coming in the near future. The Wii U on the other hand, no matter how you price it at, will be viewed as an anemic system to the consumer.

That is funny because it is true!  Same thing is happening to the Vita... which actually has a lot of great games.  But perception is trumping reality and the Vita is struggling

#244577 Bethesda: Nintendo didn’t engage third-party enough before Wii U reveal

Posted by Dharmanator on 06 September 2013 - 09:35 AM

all those mmo's are already on pc though, and  the unimpressive thing  is most of everything else is not exlusive at all.

That is valid BUT...I for one do not game on PC and I like to get the best version available.  I have a Wii u, ps 3, Xbox 360 and if course a PS 4 coming. ..

Point being there are still alot of options available on launch day.

Those other options are true but they are still new games,  not 1 year old ports. Big difference.

Did I mention 2 mmo's?

The support far outweighs the Wii U.

#244576 thank you Activision

Good to hear at least. Hope this goes for the next few years,  not just games they have had in development before the slow launch.

Time will tell.
