#275968 Nicalis Founder - "Wii U Gamepad is a waste of time and resources."

I love the gampad, I love Off-TV play, I love the fact that it acts like a map (really if games just did this, I would be perfectly happy, as long as it supported touch too.) ZombiU and others that take advantage of it makes games 100x better.

You only have to look at the ds/3ds to see some great examples of how two screens are beneficial to gamers. If they gamepad screen wasn't touch then there might be some credibility in "waste of time and resources". Unlike the ds systems I feel the gamepad is more of a complimentary screen than something you should be using  all the time.

Can't imagine ZombiU on any other system. I also use the gamepad for the browser, Miiverse and some games look really good on the gamepad like Trine 2 etc. To me it's beneficial to the whole gaming experience.

Japanese know better and won't accept American trash.

Better.

For a console that's been out 1 year and a couple months to overtake 360 which was out for 8-9 years is not bad. Xbox console sales in Japan have always been pathetic.

#272619 Ellen Page comes out as gay at Las Vegas conference for LGBT teens Read more: h

It is manufactured by the media to make it look like gays continue to live under an oppression and social stigmatization that doesn't exist (i.e. continue to marginalize people with religious and/or otherwise traditional values and make them look like 1960's-era segregationists).  There's nothing you can do in our culture to receive greater praise, admiration, and support than come out as gay.  Only in the smallest, most backwater town would this actually be "brave."  What is "brave" today is "coming out" as being against gay marriage, etc.  That's what actually carries a real social stigma now, ruins people's careers and reputation, makes them social outcasts, etc.

*edit*

BTW, I'm not trying to make any assertions here about Ellen Page's being gay, being gay in general, etc.  Just saying I think it's absurd and dishonest to continue propagating the notion that it takes particular courage to "come out" in our present culture (by "culture" I mean primarily popular media, government, journalism, and education), which is doing literally everything it can to promote homosexuality and stigmatize anyone who disagrees.

IKR, homosexuals can even marry each other in like ... 2 states in the US! Like... get over it ogres!

#266969 Was Nintendo wrong... what is the consumer saying?

Posted by Tom on 16 January 2014 - 07:03 PM

Besides the natural bias against Nintendo as a babby console, there just aren't that many games on the Wii U that appeal to the core audience.

Also stuff about third parties and whatnot.

Also we're dealing with people who care about pretty graphics who aren't smart enough to operate a PC outside the realm of Facebook.
