#87652 Nintendo preparing a new Legend of Zelda title for the 3DS

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 08:35 AM in General Gaming

what the hell did i do?

You haven't bought OoT on 3DS yet!

#87643 People think third party games don't sell on Nintendo systems?

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 06:27 AM in General Gaming

Those third party games are exclusive to Wii. It's not a fair comparison. Wait for the Wii U and it's multiplats and how they sell compared to the 720/PS4 (not fair to compare PS360 because they have huge install bases compared to Wii U) Compare the sales of Assassin's Creed III, BLops 2, Fifa, and NHL sell on all 3 consoles to see where he true third parties sell.

#87642 Wii U Triggers: Analog or Digital?

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 06:21 AM in Wii U Hardware

The digital triggers are the equivalent shape of the B button on the Wii Remote (the pro controller is). The GamePad triggers are wider but they have the same type of click as the B button but just wider.

#87641 Iwata : The other companies online is to far developed for Nintendo to Catch up.

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 06:17 AM in Wii U Hardware

I think Nintendo has learned from this past E3 to keep expectations low. If they say "don't expect Xbox live like levels of online" then we don't get too disappointed. Most Nintendo gamers prefer single player games anyway (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, Pikmin, etc.)

Lets not forget that PSN was crap for is first few years as well and didn't start coming into its own until year 3 (2009) so give the Wii U online some time. Having day 1 digital games is a big plus and an improvement over Live and PSN launches.

#87640 Iwata says developers are currently utilising 'only half Wii U's full...

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 06:12 AM in Wii U Hardware

If he means half then that would make it about 2x the 360 which is respectable considering the uses of the GamePad (plus games like Gears of War, Uncharted, and Last of Us look fantastic on those consoles and I would be happy with them next gen with a little more AA and fps).

Or maybe he pulled the "half the power" part out of his ass.

Either way it makes sense that the Wii U is new and early ports and multiplat games won't look to different. Launch titles of the 360 and PS3 didn't really look next gen. It takes about a year. Hell, look at the different between a game like Perfect Dark Zero versus Gears of War 3 or Resistance 1 vs. Resistance 3. Huge improvement.

#87638 Wii U May Not Have a Built-In Storage

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 06:08 AM in Wii U Hardware

It will need built in storage to store the OS and other features but it won't be rewritable. It will be flash based. Fine by me, I got a 500MB external HDD but I prefer physical media anyway (it's tangible and resellable)

#87611 Nintendo preparing a new Legend of Zelda title for the 3DS

Posted by 10k on 14 June 2012 - 02:50 AM in General Gaming

YAY!! but i still need to buy OOT.... is it worth it? hmmm....

Better be Majora's Mask. I never ended up finishing it.

I wouldn't mind a remake of MM if it had more work put into it than OoT, as I haven't played much of MM.

Shame on all of you!

#87267 PS3 Owners- What's a good game to start with?

Posted by 10k on 13 June 2012 - 03:43 AM in General Gaming

Uncharted for sure. Final Fantasy XIII before XIII-2 unless you have played it before. God of War III is great if you played the first two. Tales of Graces F, Valkryia Chronicles, and Heavy Rain are recommendations of mine. Metal Gear Solid is also great.

#87266 Reaction: Atari coming back to the console race

Posted by 10k on 13 June 2012 - 03:41 AM in General Gaming

I wouldn't react much. I was born in 1988 and started gaming in 1990, Atari was dead by the time I started gaming.

#86708 Ending the Wii U power debate once and for all

Posted by 10k on 11 June 2012 - 12:37 PM in Wii U Hardware

This debate won't end until all other next gen consoles are released.

We won't know how next-gen will look like and how powerful it is so there's still reason to theorize/speculate.

No, this debate wont end until Nintendo releases a final spec sheet or digital foundry disassembles a Wii U

#86612 Will you wait for the black wii u if its not available on day one?

Posted by 10k on 11 June 2012 - 08:39 AM in Wii U Hardware

If its supposed to be a living room device then it will stick out like a sore thumb being white. Most tv stands and entertainment centers are brown or black. Most people's DVD and blu ray players are black or silver. Most DVR and cable boxes are black or silver. It would only make senses if the wii u was black at launch.

White belongs on stoves, washing machines, toasters, and walls.

#86569 Wiiu Cpu just as powerful as the ps3-360 and its Gpu 1.5 x stronger? (Please no)

Posted by 10k on 11 June 2012 - 05:57 AM in Wii U Hardware

I won't even participate remotely in this, though with exception of this post.

Not your fault guys, but this rumor is BS.

I won't waste time reading all the pages either.

This ^

I will wait for black. I'm sick of white.

#85951 trilogy

Posted by 10k on 08 June 2012 - 09:59 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Dudebro Wars: The Trilogy.

A new ip trilogy for the Wii U would be good like what Gears did for the 360.

.... Batman?

No...Robin

#85452 Nintendo should release the Wii U next year

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 04:14 PM in Wii U Hardware

Aren't graphics the thing kids prioritize nowadays?

In all seriousness, though, we can all enjoy our ports of Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City and Darksider II. We also got Tekken Tag Tournament 3 and some other nice goodies to hold us off until more hardcore games come out.

Brah, you're being a bit too pessimistic.

Mass effect 3 is useless if you don't have the first two to play to get the full character trilogy buildup. Also, it won't have a good ending anyway.

Batman looks worse on Wii U based on the trailer shown, with texture problems.

Darksiders II looks good since its like Zelda but we need to see how it makes use of the tablet first.

Pessimism is mistaken for realism on these forums. The Wii U at E3 did not convince me that it is a next gen console and is a major upgrade over my PS3.

#85436 Nintendo should release the Wii U next year

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 03:48 PM in Wii U Hardware

Sure they do! Did you not see Assassin's Creed III and the pretty much confirmed Black Ops 2?

It's also getting Grand Theft Auto V.

Pretty much confirmed is not confirmed. GTA V also is not confirmed for Wii U. ACIII is a direct port instead of showing the Wii U's extra capabilities and adding some better graphics.

#85433 Nintendo should release the Wii U next year

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 03:37 PM in Wii U Hardware

But if they delay another year, they won't have any hardcore gamers at all if the 720 and PS4 are announced.

Few > None

My point is they don't have any hardcore gamers now

#85428 Nintendo should release the Wii U next year

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 03:29 PM in Wii U Hardware

If the Wii U were to be delayed a year, it would give Nintendo less time to be the only 8th gen console in the market. It's really hard to win the hardcore gamers over, but with the 720 and PS4 inevitably going to be hinted within 2 years, it would be a good idea to release it soon to try to get some of those hardcore gamers now.

That being said, if the Wii U were to be delayed a year, and Microsoft and Sony find next year to be a good idea to unveil their next generation consoles, Nintendo would definitely have a hard time surviving on the market.

Your idea only works if hardcore gamers have any interest in the Wii U to begin with. After this E3, they don't.

#85316 Is Nintendo Going To Improve the Wii U's First Party Launch Lineup?

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 11:09 AM in Wii U Games and Software

You people are so stupid, check PS3 and Xbox 360s launch games and then come back here and complain.

PS3 had resistance and got Uncharted in less than 1 year. Xbox 360 got gears its if first year. Wii U is getting Nintendo land lol.

#85269 Maybe Nintendo is targeting the hardcore long term after all!

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 08:49 AM in Wii U Games and Software

So after watching the stuff from this last e3 I have come to the conclusion that Nintendo has a long term agenda for the hardcore gamer. Stop laughing I know what I'm talking about (I hope). If one looks at Nintendo's release lineup they have pretty much revealed all the major Mario games for the 3DS and the only Super Mario game they have yet to announce yet for the Wii U is their next 3D one. What will their studios work on if all their Wii fit, Wii Sports equivalent, and New Super Mario Bros games have already been released for this generation? The Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, Mariokart, Smash Bros etc. now I know that some of those games are already in development and confirmed (Smash Bros most notably), but this has really freed Nintendo up to work on hardcore games while still having the casual stuff available near launch.

What do you guys think? Makes sense, or just a false hope after a semi-disappointing e3?

^This.

We know all the first party franchises are coming. The problem is us diehards want the Wii U at launch and we don't see anyone of this franchises coming until a year after launch. So we're stuck with our Wii's for another year before we find a reason to buy a Wii U. Or we buy the Wii U at launch and then get bored by Xmas time and have nothing to play for 6-7 months.

#85265 Wii u 3rd party titles look better?

Posted by 10k on 07 June 2012 - 08:34 AM in Wii U Hardware

neither of these two links proved any of what you previously said, the first link is not from a reliable source and is based off personal opinion of an unfinalised game. the second article doesn't indicate the game looks worse on the wii u.

Read the third link then in the quote box. Also, the topic title says will 3rd party games look better on wii u, and the answer is no, the will look the same. All articles state that.

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/06/06/e3-2012-dont-worry-about-assassins-creed-iii-on-wii-u

assassin's creed iii was also in the ubisoft booth, but it was only the mulitplayer. this was another capture the flag type thing. if you were in an area capturing and the other team showed up, you could only stun them. if another team showed up in your area, you could murder them. i had a couple of kills myself, although i took down many civilians on accident (assuming they were actually the other team). one guy did pretty well in stunning two of us, laying down a smoke bomb, and nearly vanishing before another guy from our team killed him. i liked the multiplayer.

as for the single player, i didn't see anything at the ubisoft booth, the microsoft booth, or the sony booth. the only single player game being played was one kiosk at the nintendo booth. and this was being manned by a ubisoft employee only so no one else could play. according to the guy at the booth, the wii u version is 720p, 30fps, and that is the same across all consoles. the game is the same across all consoles (aside from the gamepad stuff on the wii u), and it looks the same across all consoles.the single-player itself looks pretty nice. i jumped in with the second assassin's creed and was really unsure about the change in scenery, but after today, i'm more interested in seeing how it turns out. i thought it was cool how main character man escaped up a ship's sails, bouncing up the ropes to get there. i was worried that setting this new game in relatively new places like 100 year-old boston and new york would make for few rooftops and platforming to be done, but that appears not to be the case (mostly). i'll keep an eye on this as well.

#85182 Wii u 3rd party titles look better?

Posted by 10k on 06 June 2012 - 09:46 PM in Wii U Hardware

ACIII was conformed to be a direct port by Ubisoft. 720p, 30fps, 2xAA with some better water effects and gamepad controls. Ubisoft did not take advantage of the extra ram the console has. Most third parties won't make the Wii U version the better until the other two consoles come out, as the Wii U may become the base console.

Batman had texture pop-in and looks worse due to unoptimization so far.

#85171 Nintendo should release the Wii U next year

Posted by 10k on 06 June 2012 - 08:11 PM in Wii U Hardware

Retros game is a launch game I wont argue a stupid point. It was said months ago. Or was it launch window...one or the other. Nintendo hasnt scratched those 3 as the games from the Wii U facebook page there fore those were not the 3. They said MYSTERY GAMES Pikmin 3 was known before E3. New Super Mario Bros U was New Super Mario Bros Mii that got a name change so it wasnt a mystery. And Nintendoland isnt a game. Its a software already put on Wii U at launch. It is part of the Miiverse where your Mii plays mini games like Donkey Kong F-Zero and Zelda.

No they arent you idiot. They havent been scratched off form Wii U's facebook page yet.

Retro has been developing something since November 2010. It has only been 1.5 years. Most studios, especially small ones like retro, take 3 years to develop  HD console games. There will be no retro until holiday 2013. Nintendoland is a launch title game, not a pack-in as confirmed at E3.
