#165411 Need help reset wii-u

Posted by WaddleDee on 01 February 2013 - 07:56 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

I guess you're talking about the parental control pin? (don't think there's any other)

Unfortunately as far as I know there's no further way to truly reset the console if you don't know the PIN, and you might want to contact the previous owners for the PIN.

I'm not 100% sure though, so it might be smart to wait for another person to reply.

#164049 How to make wii U new and shiny once again *Update

Posted by WaddleDee on 28 January 2013 - 04:24 AM in Wii U Hardware

Rather than scratches I'm more bothered by the everlasting fingerprints on the gamepad.

#185039 Official Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Discussion

Posted by WaddleDee on 21 March 2013 - 02:56 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I've had it since wednesday despite being from Europe.

Hasn't it been out since the 19th in NA?

And aren't NA and EU servers connected for online play?

If so, I'm seriously worried. There's like 200 people online.

I really want that pumpkin armorset, it looks hilarious.

But damn, you really need a lot of rare commendations..

#165413 Official Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Discussion

Posted by WaddleDee on 01 February 2013 - 08:07 AM in Wii U Games and Software

This will be my first MH game so I'm really looking forward to it, seen a few videos and it looks sweet.
Will it be better played with a large group?
If so I'll be adding all you guys as I'll no doubt need all the help I can get to begin with.

The monsters increase in strength depending on the amount of players. Like in Tri there'll probably be missions you HAVE to be in an online group for to play, though.

And overall.. Just playing with people is a lot more fun, in my opinion.

I do recommend getting a Wii U headset if you're gonna play online, connecting a keyboard to your Wii U and typing out whatever it is you want to say while fighting a giant dinosaur tends to get you killed.

Thanks for the amazing signature!

#192718 WiFi works better than a Wii LAN/ethernet adapter! [FIXED ON WiiU OS 3.0]

Posted by WaddleDee on 10 April 2013 - 02:17 PM in Wii U Hardware

this IS an unofficial adapter

My wireless is incredibly slow on all my devices (including Wii U) but using the official Wii ethernet adapter the connection speed skyrockets to heaven.

If it's bothersome, I'd really recommend trying the official adapter. It's not that expensive if I remember correctly.

I'll try to add everyone as soon as possible!

#187819 Wii U won't be getting Unreal Engine 4

Posted by WaddleDee on 29 March 2013 - 12:58 PM in Wii U Hardware

I don't really give a rainbow.

I currently spend all my time enjoying Monster Hunter and Lego City, if they keep coming up with these totally-not-graphic-focused games that run fine on the Wii U and are mostly played by the Nintendo-type of people, then I'm fine with anything.

#163629 Afterglow wireless headset incompatible? Wii u firmware update?

Posted by WaddleDee on 27 January 2013 - 09:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm just gonna buy wired, makes no difference to me.

This.

And if I remember correctly, you connect it to the gamepad. So it's not like the wires are in the way, either.

#204667 WiiKey U is legit and its in Development!

Posted by WaddleDee on 07 May 2013 - 04:38 AM in Wii U Hardware

This crap really shouldn't get supported, Wii U is having it rough as it is.. Every person that decides to pirate a game instead of buying it, thus not appearing in the sales chart, is just helping destroy the game development for Wii U more, and more, and more.

#192719 Lego City Undercover ?

Posted by WaddleDee on 10 April 2013 - 02:20 PM in Wii U Games and Software

collectibles are addicting

This! I think I've spent the last 10 hours, since I got to the main city, doing nothing but looking for collectibles, disguises and wrecking the city for super-build blocks.

This game is amazing, I didn't expect the humor to be so childishly adult, either. It's childish but a kid wouldn't get it, as there's a lot of references to movies, other games, etc etc

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I choose to spend 100% of my time indulging in fantasy worlds on my pc/consoles.

#182029 How is Monster Hunter Popular?

Posted by WaddleDee on 12 March 2013 - 02:14 PM in Wii U Games and Software

The demo is a terrible representative for the actual game.

In the actual game you have to build up your armor by gathering materials from these giant monsters, You fight a ton of them in different areas, there's towns, different quests aswell that don't always involve these monsters. Besides that the strong point of MH has always been the incredible community-feel it gives and the fun factor of the online gameplay, that's why it has never been as popular in NA/EU as in JP.

As for what you said. The graphics are mediocre because it's a direct "expansion" of the last game on the Wii (sort of). I don't see how the gameplay is extremely dated. The slow-sluggishness was intended and depends on your weapon aswell. Wouldn't be very fair if you were a wallclimbing ninja vs a giant-slow monster, would it? The control system is fine, it just takes time to get used to. As with a lot of console games. The camera system might be bad because you're just not used to controlling that like you have to in Monster Hunter.

Your points are all pretty valid considering the incredible failure of a demo they've put out. They should've added a multiplayer demo, that way you would really get to see the "power" of Monster Hunter.

#177982 MH3 Not what I was expecting

Posted by WaddleDee on 01 March 2013 - 02:38 PM in Wii U Games and Software

This is why I ALWAYS discourage people to play demos for a future game from a series, the smarter move is to just pick up an earlier game from the same franchise to see what the game really is about.

They really ruined it for themselves with the MH demo though, Monster Hunter isn't a game you can just pick up and play if you haven't played it before, anyway. And then they further ruin it by just letting you loose in a mission like  you're instantly supposed to know what to do.

People arn't going to like your game when all they do is run around without knowing what they're doing, resulting in death by a giant monster.

#163414 DO NOT put External HD USB 3.0 close to Wii U

Posted by WaddleDee on 26 January 2013 - 02:30 PM in Wii U Hardware

Hmm, mine is pretty much glued to the Wii U and no issues so far.

I'll move it out of the way a bit as a precaution, though.

Thanks for the heads up

#163721 Banned from Miiverse for two weeks for a stupid reason!

Posted by WaddleDee on 27 January 2013 - 01:19 PM in Wii U Hardware

From what I've learned you really should just avoid confrontation in Miiverse.

There's a good chance that if you hadn't confronted the person posting hateful remarks, he would've gotten banned a few minutes after.

Miiverse is, mostly, a friendly community. Though there are trolls, racists, haters etc everywhere you shouldn't give them any attention if the rest of the community is actually worth talking to.

#164825 How is Skyward Sword?

Posted by WaddleDee on 30 January 2013 - 07:47 AM in Wii U Games and Software

When you do get it.. Do yourself a favor and explore the whole game, there's a lot of sidequests and upgrading all your items will basically push you to "hunt" the items you need.

I did all this and still wasn't bored with the game, jumped straight into Hero mode (sort of like Master Quest) the moment I finished the game the first time.

Really, sidequests get overlooked a lot unless there's a huge emphasis on them like in Skyrim.. but they're so much fun in Skyward Sword.

#164074 What Games Have You Sunk The Most Hours Into?

Thousands of hours in SSBM and Pokemon Red/Blue.

And WoW, unfortunately.

#164152 The Real You

Posted by WaddleDee on 28 January 2013 - 10:50 AM in The Café

I tend to be more polite online (not that I'm rude), since most of my online-time is either in games or on this forum. And at either one I'm looking for friendly people to play/chat with, not enemies.

#164822 Some Nintendo Fan art.

Posted by WaddleDee on 30 January 2013 - 07:42 AM in The Museum

Looks amazing, I'd definitely buy them.

#200450 Do you regret getting the Wii U?

Posted by WaddleDee on 26 April 2013 - 02:39 PM in Wii U Hardware

I've loved my Wii U from the start.

The "game draught" everyone spoke about didn't apply to me.

Honestly, the whole "game draught" excuse seems more of a way to say "hey, I don't have money to buy more than 2 games for the Wii U so I need to be ABSOLUTELY 100% SURE that this is the perfect game for me before I buy it" which obviously doesn't apply to a lot of games, unless you've played it before.
