It'll be constantly bumped though, if the issues raised are still issues to be fixed.A reminder that doesn't slip until further actions are taken otherwise? I'd assume it would be unpinned after the majority of disruptions have been rectified/mitigated.
Also, this is pinned?

It is really discouraging to see that this thread even exists. I personally know very few people with a Wii U, so I came here hoping to find like-minded people who I could discuss Wii carp with. I tentatively join a community I know nothing about, and this is what I see. That does not make me want to become an active member.
The key to fostering any web community is growth. A community that doesn't change is a community that stagnates. A stagnant community is a community with nothing to talk about.
This is an important discussion to have; when you love a community you don't want it to 'implode', but having this carp on the front page is not a good way to welcome members, ergo not a good way to prevent implosion.

This topic needed to be discussed im glad i as well as a few others convinced him to make it, its necessary due to the way things around here have been going lately but ever since this thread was made things around here have improved drastically and managed to get Feld0's and the other staffs attention; there are still some spam topics created by certain members but those are easily taken care of; chat has been fixed now that people dont talk about ridiculous things in it not to mention i can actually have a full discussion in there now without it being over run with annoying spam and random suggestive blurting

It's not normally hostile here. We only had a two night incident. The first night a troll using proxies raised hell on the chat and forums. The second day several people overeacted and chaos ensued. The main reason for this was inactivity from the Mods/Admins and they said they won't let it happen again and we all created measures to deal with the troll if he ever shall return. Don't let what happened discourage you from having fun here.I just joined today and this is one of the first threads I saw.

Yes I totally agree with you. This isn't exactly a topic that I enjoyed creating, but this community was turning into a derp and I didn't like it. This is nothing more than my opinion on what has happened to this community, and I think voicing my concern is better than rage quitting.

The simple fact that the members of this community are open and honest enough with each other to create and discuss the community itself within a thread like this should provide a little more of a positive outlook on the community as a whole. If I made a thread like this at Neowin or any of the other forums that I used to frequent it would have been closed on the basis of QQ no mod wants to hear it, you would never see four or more pages of responses. Here we have been able to bring our concerns to each other and discuss them openly is a good thing going forward. I only joined a few months ago and this is actually, despite it being sort of a small community still, my favorite forum. Sure the very nature of the site invites the occasional troll and there are a few members that are fanboys and others that are pessimists, but you start to figure other people on the site out a little and learn how to read their posts and it works out.
I'm sorry this thread gave you a bad first impression of the site or the community but I hope you can take it on the positive side and recognize that pretty much every active member of this community wants the site to grow, thrive, and be better than it is today, and there is definitely something to be said about that.
EDIT: BTW sorry for saying community so much lol..... community, ok I'm done.

Sometimes getting banned from chat has its positive side.I go into the chat to talk with the friends I've made and talk about video games. I went into chat a couple of weeks ago and the discussion was gay porn.

Why couldn't you bring it up yourself?
lol, yet they smack talk about people non-stop in the chat. The simple fact that the members of this community are open and honest enough with each other to create and discuss the community itself within a thread like this should provide a little more of a positive outlook on the community as a whole.
You're all sending very mixed messages in this thread and with your behaviour.

Because he already knew what he wanted to say and how he was going to approach the subject and I didn't want to steal his idea; plus he knew about the past events that occurred on this forum and could elaborate on the subject more with this knowledge

I've only seen one person smack talked in the chat. That was quite a while back, and I've heard nothing about it since.

Those are people.
They have so much fun in chat they bring it out into the rest of the forum expecting the same leniency because they're so funny in the chat.
They get 9001 likes and parade around like a boss on acid.
I think it's less about the chat existing and the topics which are discussed there, and more about the people who are using it and not receiving punishment for one reason or another.
It's a people problem at the end of the day when people can't use a chatroom responsibly. But, from my observations at MLP Forums - a much larger community than this one - chatrooms have a way of making people feel a bit too relaxed, sometimes bringing out the very worst in them. I don't think the solution lies in locking the chatroom up any further - all I see that leading to is increasing the feeling of exclusivity some people get by removing it even further from the general public than it already is.
Each and every single message in the chatroom is logged. Following some of the feedback presented in this topic, I'll make sure that the logs get reviewed so we can make an informed decision about the chatroom's future.

I feel this should alleviate some of the negative members joining.
It looks like David abandoned the super-special partnership with us here!

I'm not saying the chat should be destroyed. I'm just saying it should be monitored more.

You can report people.I'm not saying the chat should be destroyed. I'm just saying it should be monitored more.
Be the monitor yourself.
You are responsible for every action people take around you, in an interactive environment like a message board on the Internet you're not forced to use.

If you dont like what someone is saying in the chat you can always go to an admin or mod to report them. This needs to be made clear.

Things I would like to see on this forum:
1. We need people like help-desk personnel. These people could be like Mods but lower in the sense that they only have half of their power. Like it would take 3 out of 5 help-desk staff to ban for a certain time or forever. This would put ease on Mournblade, Andy and Josh's work(Only Mods I see online lol). Another example could be that it would take 2 help-desk staff to ban a thread were as one could only temp ban it.
2. If Nintendo does release the rumor "Accomplishments" we should be able to upload our score cards.
3. We need a re-structure the forum major threads.
4. Just a bit more customization.
These things are hard to implement but they would be great for this place. But for real this place is great and I owe it all to you guys Feld0 and the Mods.
