Updated with 3DS Default Control Scheme. Anyone like?

It's not a requirement that all buttons be used.

It's often more easier to have as little movement of the hands as possible.
The game only requires:
- A normal attack button (A button)
- A special attack button (B Button)
- A button to dodge and block (L button)
- Possibly a button to grab, but this was also normal+special on the Wii Remote + Nunchuk setup, which I found easier.(R Button [its closer to the z button, like the gamecube])
- Movement (Circle pad, duh)
- Taunt (d pad)

My edition
it'd be just like the gamecube controller, minus the c stick and z button

So you are not thinking of the new DL and DR buttons to do anything? Two more attacks, there is a lot of ways to go there...

Wait, what buttons?
Anyways, I said before, we have no idea if this console is going to fully support four simultaneous controllers. If they are going to make a SSB game, it's going to support 4 players locally. You put two and two together, and you have yourself a game that's going to work with the least amount of buttons available: a Wii Remote.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Oh, I was talking about the 3ds's control scheme, but the wii u's controller could, again, use the gamecube's scheme. with the dl button (which wasn't on the cube) as a dedicated final smash button

Also i dont like final smashes

*Gasps* I LOVE THEM! >: (

- A special attack button (B Button)

I like this. But I don't think B button is natural for me. Maybe it could be this:
A normal attack button (A/Y Button)
- A special attack button (B/X Button)

But of course. This is only the default controls, not the definite controls.

but the b button was how the cube did it, and that's how i based my scheme.
how is the tried and tested method not natural? The 3ds's controls are basically a gamecube without a c-stick or z button.
we also need a jump button :/ that'd probably be x/y, again like the cube

I just use tap jump, AKA the control pad. But it could be Y. And it doesn't feel natural to me. Not to you.

i hate tap jump, and the 3ds circle pad doesn't seem very tappy :/

The connectivity between the Wii and the 3ds seems very likely to be a fail.

Not really, don't know if you know, but you can transfer Miis from a Wii to 3DS, and it works just fine.

There's one character I want more than any for SSB4:

Caeda.

She seems to be set up perfectly for a Smash Bros game. She's got a spear, so her fighting style would be unique to the rest--we wouldn't be getting just another Fire Emblem sword fighter (though I wouldn't object to Mia or Lyn getting spots). Also, her Pegasus could be a great final smash. Like, she breaks the smash ball, then upon activation her Pegasus swoops down. She hops on and charges across the course, sort of like Marth does now, maybe with control of when to hit with her spear for extra damage. Probably a short-time smash.

It definitely doesn't hurt that all the Fire Emblem girls are beautiful.

I can see an amped-up Euphoria engine being used for the bodies in stamina mode. Not likely, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

DEAD BODIES EVERYWHERE, NEW MODE BODYCOUNT!!!!!
actually id like to see special mode (in brawl it was mix and match different mods ,metal, etc..) set up a little differently. Where each player can customize there fighter, so that you can have one overpowered , metal , low gravity Bowser against three other players with regular stats. It'd be like custom boss fights against your friends.

I hope the roster for this game has, maximum, two third-party characters. I don't think a Nintendo game should have more than two. It wouldn't be the same with a whole bunch of extra characters put in the game.

I want to hype this game up and stuff, but we know so little about it. While I like that we got it confirmed at E3, it was a real tease with it not even being in development. D:

Just add Isaac from Golden Sun as a playable character and I'll be happy.

Brawl still sucks to me due to him being an AT. lol

And I bet before Super Smash Bros. Brawl was announced with Snake confirmed you would have said that there should be a maximum of zero, right? =P

I think three would be okay. That was what many were speculating for SSBB - that there would be one that wasn't confirmed to us before release.
