With Kid Icarus uprising being finished up when do you think Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS will be released?
I say late 2012-mid 2013 at the earliest.

I wouldn't expect it any time soon. I'm guessing somewhere in the middle of the Wii U's life time.

Brawl was announced in 2005. Development started in late 2005-early 2006, and wasn't released until March 2008. Smash 4 won't start development until February or March 2012, and judging by how much bigger this game will be then Brawl, I estimate a late 2013-mid 2014 release.

Not only that, there is also the 3DS version that they need to work on too. That could extend the release date by a month or two.

I'd say 2014 or 2015. We don't even know if development has started yet, so I wouldn't expect to see it anytime next year.

I think that it wont be for quite a while. 2014 at the earliest and 2016 at the latest I would think. So I think that I will go to the number in the middle which is 2015 as my estimate.

A nice 2014 launch would work fine with me. It's enough time for them to work on it, and at the same time not too far away, which would make waiting for the game... Well, awful. Somewhere around the middle, leaning towards the end of 2014 sounds perfect.

Yeah, I don`t expect to see it for while. Hopefully Nintendo will release enough details over the course of its development so the wait isn`t so excruciating.

Yep, we are doomed. The new SSB will be ours in 2014, late 2013 if they work PRETTY hard on it!

No, perfect would be a controller in my hands, playing it, right now.

I'd expect 2015, I guess 2016 at the latest. As they want to make it more than just a sequel this time around, plus they got the 3DS to make.

Fun fact, Brawl was supposed to come out on my birthday at one point, but it got pushed even further away.

unfortunately sakurai said that it would be so much quicker if they didnt have to worry about the 3DS version :'( then he said it might take years, so i predict 2014-2015

I say this year latest early 2013. You guys have to remember Nintendo is aware of how long it has(in the past) took them to develop games. I say this is a surprise title for E3 in gameplay form and it is a launch title for Wii U and launches late 2012 early 2013 for 3ds.

yea thats not gonna happen its just illogical is has already been stated that development wouldnt start until after kid Icarus which just recently finished that would have given sakurai and his team 1 year to complete this its not gonna happen that early

I have to say 2014 or 2015. The development process has not started yet, and Sakurai and his team seem to like to make there time with there games, heck look at Kid Icarus Uprising. It was first revealed at 2010 and it is coming out in March. This time they are developing for two consoles and they have to make sure both work well.

also we know 3ds can run wii games. so they could use the Wii engine for the 3ds version and add on 3ds and new mechanics which will cut development time. not like Wii U which Will be far more powerful thus needing new engine

Brawl had to use a dual layered disk = 8GB and the biggest 3ds card we know of is 2GB so idk if it would be possible for them to fit this while making it on the wii engine. Though I'm sure they have an engine in mind
