What can I do with the loot? I found out that i had to return to camp but once opening the chest nothing is selectable or activatible.

In the demo? Nothing. In the game you can sell it, turn it into resourses for building the town, put it towards forging/upgrading new armor and weapons, combine it with other items to create new items, or trade it online with other hunters (as long as its not rarer than level 4)

Dragon Dogma? Gonna go check that out too! I liked the demo, but after eating the Lagombi 5 times it's getting boring! Anyone know the release date in Europe?

Hello! My name is Kao and I am a Kangaroo! If you can see my kicking picture there, you can see me riding one of mine friends! I am quite popular in the area because I saved alot of animals turning in to women accsesories. It was quite painfull on the way, but I liked the experience! I plan on buying a plane with all my money I got and going on an adventure on the isles. My first adventure was when that Mcguffin Hunter cought me, but I escaped, and I don't want to let any animal in pain! What's your story, mate?

To you and everyone else, every move in the combat system is included in the manual. If you cant even figure out to look at the manual, before going online to complain about things the manual explains, you should NOT be playing monster hunter

Well taking a look at the manual it didn't explain anything that I didn't work out myself, the combat itself isn't explained in the demo which it definitely should be. I was left dodging that giant rabbit creature until it was doing some animation which I could attack it, I was just confused and mashing the attack buttons with two little companions following me for no apparent reason (other than knocking the ice off me when I'm frozen).

There doesn't really seem to be much depth to the combat from my impressions with the game.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

It comes down to what you are using and the enemy you are fighting. You'll find you may have to shift your attack patterns between different large monsters. You'll also find that learning how a monster behaves during a fight to be key to slaying it.

I really suggest any new hunters to the series to wield the Lance/ Gunlance weapon. For some enemies, it's actually quite foolish to think you'll beat them in the first go. That said, it's better to spend the first encounter enduring hits while learning how the enemy works, so you know when you have opportunities to strike them.

I imagine the demo not to have the more ridiculous enemies. Things like Barroth, Barioth, Rathalos and Uragaan gave me trouble in MHTri.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Played the demo a bit and rather like it. Using the dual analogs is much easier than the touch screen DPad. Don't plan on getting it anytime soon though, unless it's on the 3DS eShop. I practically need the CPP for the underwater quests.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

Well, easy is the wabbit, slightly more threatening than a great jaggi, but far more mobile.

Hard is the biggest ahole in mh. The plesioth. Imagine barrioth levels of jerkpants, that can swim, and is constantly pms'ing.

Not necessarily hard, hes a just a jerkface

Thats probably because you are a button masher. You said you read the manual, which gives a detailed description of what attacks each button did, and combinations of buttons, and instead of considering that, you mashed buttons, and then blamed the game.

Go play dragons dogma, monster hunter is not for you.

Attacks are easy and spammable without drawback, special moves are clearly displayed on screen via programmable 'hot buttons', there is a lock on feature, that enables the player to effortlessly run circles around the slower, nicer monsters who attack much less, have huge tells and pauses before moves, requiring much less observation, dont typically rage, dont really move around a lot in comparison, and have lifebars so you dont have to be observant of their behavior.... And it looks REALLY flashy while doing it.

Stop mentioning drag
Stop mentioning dragons dogma! MHU3 is not Skyward sword, U use buttons, not the wii mote! For example, with the switchaxe, there are two attacks, you can combine them to mke combos!

Switch axe has 6 base attacks.

Dragons dogma was made by the monster hunter team at capcom for this explicit purpose. Monster hunter was designed with a very narrow target audience in mind, and they have NO intention of diluting it to make it freindlier to a larger audience so... Dragons Dogma.

Plus its awesome.

I really hate to say it, but I think the game plays well on the Wii U, but I'm not at all impressed with how it looks. I was planning on getting the 3DS and Wii U versions, but I just cannot justify enough of an upgrade over MH:Tri on the Wii to pick up both. It is the 3DS version for me only.
Currently playing: AC 3, ZombiU, BLOPS 2, Nintendoland, NSMBU, Nano Assault Neo, Halo 4, Darksiders 2, and Far Cry 3

Well yeah, it IS the 3ds game. Thats the way the franchise rolls. They will NOT make one ground up for modern consoles, like, ever. The last one they did was tri on wii, and thats because they canceled it for ps3 to bring it to wii since it was basically a souped up gamecube, and making a title that was on the high end of wii production values costs a fraction of midrange production value ps3 games.

Thats why the pc game, monster hunter frontier, still has ps2 graphics, just in hd, and the ps3 game is the psp game in hd.

I totally think most people should be just fine with one version or the other.

Im actually really really impressed with mhu's 3d on 3ds. As soon as i saw the capcom logo animation it was like a slap in the face that the 3d made a megaton improvement over reveleations, which was a megaton improvement over everything else available.

But... the wii u version has online and crossplay, so im going to have to find some kinda deal on it.... Right now all ive found is half off the ds game with the purchase of the wii u game... I want better than that.

Maybe ill just wait until wii u version is used for like 20 bucks, then transfer my 3ds game onto it and hop online XD.

Ill definately be picking it up for 3ds, just because of the portability..... And the 3D (I like 3d better than HD, crazy I know.)

Only bummer is lack of online for 3ds version.

If they introduce a cross buy system.... hnnnng.

We are already getting a cross system so that's good.

Saw the demo, I didn't get the chance to play it since I do not own the Wii U system as of now and I might not for a while...
I still hope even so that I can get my hands on both a PS4 & Wii U this holiday season.

Yeah that is why I guess it is probably better to support the handheld version if you are only going to buy one at retail, but $20 for the Wii U version sounds about right.

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be updated on Wii U in April with off-TV play and cross-region online multiplayer. So, soon those in North America will be able to play with their friends over in Europe. Moe free downloadable quests are also in the plan for the next “several months”, with the first batch available at launch. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is due in March, for 3DS and Wii U.

Awesome news. :)

Ok, maybe I've been living under a rock, or maybe cause I hadn't really played much Nintendo since SNES... But what is this? I just watched a trailer for it and it looks amazing. Is this an RPG, what's the main premise?

And while I don't have a 3DS, I think that's an awesome idea... Not to mention way to sell more copies, being able to play the same save file on both... Hmm... I may have to get my son a 3DS when this comes out... Lol... Yea, it'll be "for him."
