The game was a follow up to TTYD. TTYD was an incredibly deep and fun RPG with turn based battles and Mario characters like Koopas, Goombas, and Boos that was incredibly funny. SPM was a boring platformer without humor, the only Mario characters were Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach, it wasn't turn based at all, and it was 2D for the most part. I was so sad when I played it, I was expecting a superior sequel to my favourite game, not a completely different mess.

Oh I get it, and I feel a bit ignorant now since I didn't know TTYD was turn-based. So basically, it was a bad sequel to TTYD but an overall good game as a stand alone, I guess.

The touchscreen would be very convenient, as you would be able to pick partner without stopping the game, and you could choose your attacks with the touchscreen.
