I was told the same thing by GameStop, even though I pre-ordered, it's still (first come, first serve). In which I hate, like really whats the whole point of calling it a pre-order, just call it a deposit on the product.
However, I probably would also recommend you being there all day, I also have heard of people camping out for 2-3 days...so you could have even more of a uphill battle.

My Gamestop told me that all the first shipment of Wii Us are for preorder only, then after 2 days if no one picks them up, they will sell to public..

When i asked Gamestop they said if you dont preorder you WONT get one.

My Game-stop said they are all gone untill January at the earliest. Idk if this is true. Glad I ordered online now.

Um there's nothing to hate. GameStop is supposed to have at minimum the preorder amount. People are just getting there early in the case of half of their shipment is mysteriously missing (or hoarded by employees). Or because they don't have preorders.

I was under the impression that if you preorder at GameStop, you have one waiting for you on launch day. There is a buying window I'm sure of a few days. If you don't buy within that window, you forfeit your preorder.....can anyone speak in this?

I preordered my deluxe from toys r us, and the manager of the store specifically told me that the preorder slip guarantees me a console on launch day. It has to be the same thing at GameStop.

I was always under the impression that if you pre-ordered from GameStop, they would reserve your copy/system up till 48 hours after launch day. At least, that's how my GS always does it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to pre-order from them this year, they ran out after a day, so I had to go with Best Buy. Anyone know if they do anything differently. Should I get there early since they might also do first come first serve?

If you get in line super early in the morning (Or come to a store, that isn't too popular) and you should get one

Yes they are supposed to reserve your copy for 1-2 days/whatever. But it is still first come first serve for anyone without a preorder, or in the case where they didn't get a full shipment or don't play by the rules and they end up with more preorders than consoles. If that happens it should be preorder only availability.

I spoke with one of the guys at EB Games today, I asked if we have a pre-order if we are guaranteed one on launch day and he says yup. Of course if they do get any units outside the number reserved for pre-orders, then it will be first come first serve. Even though I have a pre-order I'm still gunna be there early just because I want it that much
