Miyamoto recently discussed his thoughts on F-Zero and said "I thought people had grown weary of it". Miyamoto felt that there wasn't room for an evolution of F-Zero. When Miyamoto was asked about the Metroid series he didn't say much but he did state "Since Wii U is a HD console with more hardware power, what we can naturally think about is a beautiful HD action game." This is however, not a confirmation of a Metroid game in development.

I don't know that, I think it's just that he doesn't read the internet's opinions as much as we think he does. I do agree with him - what else can they do to the F-Zero series to make it different? Sure. It would be GORGEOUS to see the game in HD, going fast as GX with perfect framerate, but Nintendo likes to innovate.

Well, Captain Falcon has a record of being a Bounty Hunter. Perhaps they could make a story based around that, elaborate and give the characters of the series something beyond just their racing career. Apparently they've all got a back story.

The racing could be used in some parts of the story, and primarily be used as a multiplayer asset. I've never really seen F-Zero as exciting beyond multiplayer.

As long as the Metroid game isn't as story-based, I'm in. Seriously, I nearly broke my Other M disc in half.
I never played F-Zero, unless you count the thirty seconds that Brawl gives you.
