To All THQ Employees:
We now have the answers we've been seeking through our financial restructuring and
Chapter 11 case. While much will be written, here are the facts of the bids and auction
that occurred t:

  • Yesterday morning, we received a competing bid for the operating business,
along with Clearlake's offer, and numerous offers for separate assets.
  • During an auction process that lasted over 22 hours, the final conclusion was
that the separate-asset bids would net more than a single buyer for the majority
    of the company.
  • Shortly, we will, present the results to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, which must
    concur with our assessment.
  • The proposed sales of multiple assets is as follows :
  • Sega agreed to purchase Relic
  • Koch Media agreed to purchase Volition and Metro
  • Crytek agreed to purchase Homefront
  • Take 2 agreed purchase Evolve and
  • Ubisoft agreed to purchase Montreal and South Park
We expect these sales to close this week.

First Atari, now THQ.

I blame all of the shovelware they put out on the Wii/Nintendo DS. That's what really killed them. Hopefully all the developers manage to find work within the new companies that bought the franchises. Well THQ, it looks like this the end. We had fun together, but due to your foolish actions you must cease to exist.

Great company ruined by greed.

No more Darksiders. :(

Saints Row is dead too?

This is a sad day for the industry.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

Saint Rows was purchased. Platinum Games also expressed an interesting in saving Darksiders. Who knows what will happen? Only time will tell.

It says Koch Media got Saints Row.

I hope Ubisoft's future games could make it on the Wii U.

http://www.joystiq.c...otential-buyer/

Vigil's new IP, codenamed Crawler, meant even more risk' for potential buyers.

Vigil's new IP, codenamed Crawler, was a show-stopper by all internal accounts: "When the teams got together recently to show each other their titles, Crawler dropped the most jaws," Rubin said. "It is a fantastic idea, and truly unique. The fact that nobody bid for the team and title is a travesty. It makes no sense to me."

this message on facebook

On behalf of the entire Metro team here at THQ, we would like to say thank you and goodbye to all of the fans. As you may have heard, THQ as a publisher will cease operations today. Metro: Last Light has been purchased at auction by Koch Media/Deep Silver. It's a sad day for us but please know a few things: You guys are amazing and your support and kind words have been inspiring to all of us. The game is great and it WILL be released. 4A Games will of course continue to be the developer.

This Facebook page will continue to be the main source of information about Metro in the short term. Watch this space for updates from the new publisher but in the meantime thanks again for everything and look for us in the safety of the Metro.

I really wish Ubisoft could've got Metro. Would be cool to see what they could do with it.

Also Darksiders I think is with Crytek now.

What about De Blob, Spongebob, ect. Honestly those were the only titles I really cared from THQ, not darksiders, ect.

Stupid Snowmads!
