#67005 Nintendo Network costing money?

Posted by neverwinteru on 19 March 2012 - 02:52 PM

No i dont think they will charge.

With that being said i find it to be rather annoying that everybody wants nintendo to have a better online service then xbox live and psn yet they arent willing to pay.

#66134 Nintendo has money in the bank

Making loses for almost every quarter in the year is great?

Recognise their faults at least.
You can still like a company for their games and have your head screwed on looking at their financial results.

meanwhile sony lost 2 billion dollars in a quarter of a year, for the exact same reason. the tsunami, and the currency exchange issue is what lost them their money, hardly the fault of nintendo's economic decision making. besides, it was their first loss in 30 years, you cant possibly scrutinise on this one case

#65803 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by ThePowerGamePlayer on 11 March 2012 - 02:17 PM

Well. Nintendo 3DS games cost around 39.99-49.99 So i can see Wii U games being $49.99-$59.99 price range.. I can say that a $50-$60 price is not bad, considering games sold well this 7th gen. Plus games were more expensive in the 80's-90's so i think a $50-$60 price would be a sweet deal then paying $70-$80 price..

#65527 E3 WiiU controller

The touchscreen easily replaces clickable sliders. Also, the wii u screen is only 480p while the Vita is 544p. A it has less pixels than the vita.

Edit: Fixed lol

Touch screen doesnt have the quick availibility of clickable sticks

This would be a horrible idea. Anybody remember the PSP Go? That's what I thought.

#65058 Will F-Zero make a comeback ?

Posted by Lain on 05 March 2012 - 11:54 PM

All it really needs for the Wii U is a 30 player online mode with customisable vehicles (Speed, Weight etc) on top of what was in GX (<3 that game).

Maybe a track maker as well.

Exactly how I feel. The gameplay is already top-notch to me.

For me what will make it good is have the vehicles take damage and make the game have smarter more difficult AI. Don't know if damage will work on a F-Zero game, will it? Maybe a Cockpit camera.

I can tell you haven't played GX haha~

You can attack other vehicles and destroy them, and of course crashing into the gaudrails also leads to loss of energy. Story Mode AI is designed to beat you, while Master Class Grand Prix does very well too (with only slight chances of mishaps due to physics).

I think 30 is too much maybe 20. 30 is a very long wait.

With Communities, I think it'd be pretty cool. Just take a random bunch, and allow a minute or two for others to join in before the races start.

#64527 Star Trek Game

Posted by Andy on 03 March 2012 - 06:44 AM

That would probably be the likely scenario.

By the way, has there ever been a Star Trek game? I don't recall any.

There's been several. The Angry Video Game Nerd made a whole video dedicated to Star Trek games. There's one coming out soon for the PS360 (and hopefully Wii U).

Those things are answers to your question of:

HOW THE HELL DOES LINK PUT SUCH A HUGE ITEM IN HIS POCKET!?!?!?!

They say that brevity is the wit of the soul. Unfortunately, I took a shovel to my soul somewhere along the way. So long, wit!

And this will be forever known as the shortest post Ponkotsu has ever posted. :D
But in seriousness, I do enjoy your detailed posts.

#63857 "New rumors leaked"

Posted by Crackkat on 27 February 2012 - 04:53 PM

bu**c***p!!! the wii u is not going to make crytek "very happy" and be only 2x the power of 360. and its also not going to make EA commit to releasing all its key franchises with only 2x the power of 360. u know what else, gearbox wouldnt be praising it so highly either, and activision wouldnt have promised to support it like no nintendo console before. the wii u will be much more powerful than that

#63209 Zelda Demo 15% of What WiiU is capable of?

Posted by Caius Casshern Sins on 23 February 2012 - 02:15 PM

I think what he meant to say was that the demo was rushed so it didn't show off what the Wii U is truly capable of.

#63135 Be able to like a status?

#62850 Wii U On Demand (Satellaview for Wii U)

Posted by Ponkotsu on 21 February 2012 - 02:42 AM

An interesting idea, to be sure. I've been planning on adding some Satellaview related thoughts to my Miitropolis thread over on the hardware board, actually, since Satellaview actually had a very Mother/Earthbound-style 2D city hub area that you'd run around in with a little pre-Mii avatar to access its various features.

I've definitely been thinking that it would be interesting if Nintendo's longtime flirtations with online - starting notably with Satellaview - would see some kind of reference in their upcoming new online model with the Nintendo Network, now that they're finally going to be plunging into online features their most seriously yet. The original Satellaview hub has a good bit in common conceptually with elements of the Wii no Ma channel on the Wii and my Miitropolis concept on the hardware board, at any rate, and bringing back some features like this could definitely do a lot to help set Nintendo further apart from the competition, as well as potentially drive their online software sales.

In short, the more they can do to make using their online services on the Wii U and 3DS a part of customers' daily lives - socially and otherwise - the better. And that's been a cited goal of Nintendo's for over five years now, as they've been openly discussing always wanting to give customers reasons to turn on their Nintendo systems every day, with new surprises and things to find. Something like this could be an interesting way to do that. It'd take a fair amount of dedicated resources internally, so I'm not going to hold my breath, personally, but this is definitely a neat idea.
