#173506 Need for speed Most wanted photos comparison with xbox360

Posted by alan123 on 20 February 2013 - 12:41 PM

that, because of the totally same gpu featurers. It may have less fps than the other system, it may be 720p instead of 1080 native... but it will look the same. Same textures, same effects, same everything.

no the textures will be the same... At least in my PC experience, even if I modify my games with 4k-6k textures in the entire world.. the gpu drops about 3-4 fps... ! I dont think 720p or 1080 textures are that heavy for 6xxx based gpu.  Maybe the fps will be 30 instead of 40...  and 720p instead of 1080p... Its all about ram... and wii U has ram.

not as much RAM as the X720 or PS4 though.

The Atari Jaguar !

First 64bit console & also had a GPU that could be used as a CPU, not long after it's release it had a CD unit for CD based games.

#152557 External hard drive problem

maybe your HD needs to be connected with a Y lead & not just a single usb (if it is not a external powered HD).

:(

I don't know what else to suggest, i have heard there has been issues with the hdmi lead with certain TV's so maybe try another TV to see if the console works, or even another hdmi lead, (i have not used the Nintendo lead myself)

I hope you can get it sorted out soon.

When you get it all working, don't forget to visit here again, you will find lots of people who will help & advise you on the world of Wii U.

#147735 The Official Return and Leave Thread

Posted by alan123 on 13 December 2012 - 03:28 PM

bye bye & good riddance !

any forum is better without people who start threads saying they are going to leave.

furthermore what sort of admin would allow a thread of such nature to be pinned.

why do people who want to or are leaving feel the need to broadcast it to everyone ?

#139291 Wii U Gamepad protective rubber case

Posted by alan123 on 27 November 2012 - 02:56 PM

I was thinking about getting a case, well i was 50/50 on weather to or not, but having held the GamePad a few days ago, it is very shiny plastic, the best case i have found so far it this one http://goo.gl/qiMsD from Play,

The Play & Grip hard-shell case is the perfect protective case for your Nintendo Wii U Gamepad. The robust and durable design features a soft touch finish whilst the hard-shell will protect your Gamepad from bumps, dirt and scratches. Also includes built-in silicon grips for extra comfort and extended gameplay and an integrated stand to allow table top viewing for chat and gameplay.

It is not a bad price & it also covers the front of the GamePad where many i have seen are just cover the back of the GamePad.

I will let everyone know what it is like when it arrives.

#137386 Developers Have It Wrong, The Wii U Is Powerful, It’s Next Generation Powerful

Posted by alan123 on 24 November 2012 - 08:55 AM

If the Wii U hardware works with this GPGPU set-up to take load off the CPU via the GPU then by doing this you are taking away processing power away from the GPU.

A CPU is much faster than a GPU, but a GPU can do more processes than a CPU at any given time, but it does so more slowly, this is one reason why GPU's are used in super-computers because they can crunch data/numbers faster overall because they run more processes.

The actual issue is that the Wii U is only maybe half a generation in-front of the X360 & PS3  & not a full step in-front.
