Hey guys, it's super hard to create female characters.
I thought maybe they would say the female characters are being held back until more games sell.

SMC been kind of a dead format last decade or so with the rise of computers netflix and tablets and Roku,Apple TV and such.
Shame as in the 80's and early 90's SMC was the stuff man. TMNT,Thundercats,He-Man,Garfeild,Dennis The Menace,Heathcliff,,Tail Spin,Spiderman,Batman TOS,Sonic,Mario,Pac-Man,Bugs Bunny,Tiny Toons and more.

The closest Best Buy with the Smash Demo is 45 miles away and I live near Orlando.

You think you have it bad. Here's how far I have to travel to get to my closest Best Buy.
Add to that an hour to get to the airport, and a few mins to get from the airport to Best Buy.
Then make that a return trip.
Assuming I spent roughly 30 mins playing Smash Bros., it would take me about 2 days and 7 hours, there and back.

I honestly wasn't all too bothered with the human focus and lack of Godzilla, most of the original movies were like that
Exactly, this film was true to the originals and wasn't just a cgi-fest of monster fights (go watch Pacific Rim if you want that).
People have lost the appreciation for suspense these days. Look at classics like Jaws and Alien, it's the suspense and delayed gratification that makes these films great.
