#259595 Watchdogs is Wii U last hope

Posted by Kokirii on 07 December 2013 - 03:36 PM

I had it pre-ordered for wii u but cancelled it to move it to xbox one. No way im playing it on a console with less power.

you must have a huge (e-)peen. I bet 20 (e-)women at once couldn't satisfy your voracious POWER.

Also Am a nintendo freak i cant deny that Wii U is struggling specially since its not selling well, but we still have a hope; watchdogs if nintendo payed for devs to make watchdogs a Wii U exclusive, We might still have a chance so hopefully if nintendo makes Wii u an exclusive they should :-

1. disable region lock

2.make a watch dogs bundle that does not cost more than 200-250

3. include cross game chat.

These might be enough for Wii U to sell especially that watchdogs is the most anticipated game of 2014.

Don't lie. You are not a Nintendo freak. All you do is piss and moan about the Wii U and keep pegging it as being an 8 year old xbox360 . Go buy a PS4 or something and get the f outta here.

Oh and good luck becoming a game developer, I hope you will develop common sense skills first.

#256600 Will the Wii U survive next-gen

Posted by 3Dude on 17 November 2013 - 06:01 AM

No, what system has ever survived next gen.

What? What garbage is this? PS4 and xbone arent next gen, they are current gen. Ps5 and xerection are next gen. Once a generation starts, ITS NOT NEXT GEN ANYMORE.

Yes, wii u will survive ps4 and xbone. They are nowhere near the top of the list of issues the wii u needs to be concerned with.

#248196 SSB4 a boring rehash?

Posted by Goom on 26 September 2013 - 02:54 PM

Nintendo hasn't made a big deal about the returning characters at all. Sakurai reveals the new characters on his miiverse account and that's it. Secondly we have only seen about 12 characters so far, Nintendo won't reveal all the new characters at once. That would just diminish all the hype, where is the fun in that? Lastly we don't know about the features in SSB4. Sakurai wouldn't take out the story mode without having a replacement feature. So don't get your panties in a twist just yet, hold on a bit longer before you cast your judgment.

#248194 SSB4 a boring rehash?

Posted by Chrop on 26 September 2013 - 02:53 PM

1. There is a story mode, just no cutscenes

2. There would be an outrage if there was less characters, they wouldn't risk it

3. Nintendo doesn't make a big deal on new announced characters, they make 1 miiverse post and add a page to the website.

4. They will only announce new characters in special times, like a big Ninty Direct or E3, not in a picture on miiverse...

#237195 Lets analyze and compare Bayonetta 2' gameplay

Posted by 3Dude on 05 August 2013 - 08:58 AM

meh just looks ok to me lol dont know why people keep comparing the wii u to systems that are 7 YEARS + old,of course it should be better lol its using more modern tech and has better ram...but....imo its not a massive leap ahead like 3dude tries to make out, when compared to the ps4 it looks cack (look at the plane for example, looks like cardboard to me not metal lol) and thats what people should be comparing the wii u with, nxt gen consoles

Well, the shaders not supposed to emulate metal, its a modern military fighter plane, they dont leave them bare metal for a myriad of reasons including gigantic thermal signatures, obvious sun glares, and a carc (chemical agent resistant coating) requirement.

The resulting finish for aircraft gives off a reduced/diffused glare matte look with little er 'pocks' (for grip when they need to be maintenced) that doesnt look anything like the polished metal you would see on commercial or purposefully decorative/polished show planes like the blue angels.

And that, they did a surprisingly good job on.

fall0604a.jpg

Second off.... Yeah, the ps4 is considerably more powerful than wii u, but NOWHERE NEAR as powerful as the computers that handled the demos you are likely thinking about. And its really starting to show now that stuff like deep down and watchdogs have moved off of i7+titan pc's and onto ps4's hardware.

Deep down ps4 demo on pc with titan gpu:

Deep down on ps4 hardware.

They uh... They may have overshot a bit.

#223328 Lets analyze and compare Bayonetta 2' gameplay

I kind of want to find videos of other hack and slash games just for the sake of argument, but I know that none can compare.

Eh, there are others, but there really isnt much point if its not the best. Anyone can make a terd on a system, no matter how powerful it is.

Like X-blades. Which was so bad it was quite literally offensive in every conceivable way. Especially the main character. Somebody hand these ruskies a dictionary and bookmark and highlight the word subtlety.

x-blades-20090205014704076-2740606_640w.

Although it is from an independent developer and not a gigantic studio with practically limitless funding like sony santa monica.... so it is comparable to bayonetta 2 In that way.

Then theres ninja theories paid ps3 exclusive heavenly blade, Which was shown roughly in the same timeframe of ps3's life, so ninja theory had about the same amount of time on ps3 hardware as platinum has with wii u right now.

HHeavenlySword%20Screen%205a.jpg

But i really like the god of war ascension comparison because its completely unfair to bayonetta 2.

Sony santa monica is an absolutely MASSIVE first part sony studio with practically limitless budgets that focused 100% on 2 gow games in a row.

Platinum is a tiny independent studio split between working on 2 projects at the same time.

Ascension was made by a team that has been optimizing their engine and techniques exclusively to the metal of one peice of hardware for seven years. Two years longer than any other gen in history.

platinums working off of a couple months with final kits and tool chains on a brand new system they never touched before.

And bayonetta 2 is killing it.

The funny thing is that 3Dude always backs up his theories/facts with evidence, but other people seem to think he's nothing but a biased fanboy. And even then, they do nothing to disprove him. It's quite sad.

#246781 The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Receives a 9.8/10 from IGN

Posted by Scumbag on 18 September 2013 - 03:31 PM

IGN=98.
Eurogamer=100.
Gamespot=80

Lol Gamespot. You're so cute.

I despise Gamespot with a passion but who actually finds their reviews any use anyway. Their opinions are unjustified and reek of negativity towards Nintendo, everyone knows this.

Look here, they give the original Wind Waker a 9.3: http://uk.gamespot.c...the-wind-waker/

But HD gets a 8.0 because it's worse? Somewhere between early Gamecube and now they have become bias pigs. How can a game with much prettier graphics, new features, GamePad usefulness and a harder difficulty of one of the best games ever made get a unjustified lower score?

#245964 X Love Fest thread

Posted by 3Dude on 14 September 2013 - 10:35 AM

I kind of wish we knew a bit more about what was going on in the game (Apart from what 3Dude pointed out about the song).
Besides that, I'm excited for it.

I wish we had ANY new info on ANYTHING. Im dyin here.

Heres some things Ive pieced together.

The 'main character' is wearing a military uniform, shared by many others, very likely the uniform for military combat mech pilots. Lucky us XD.

The name of the doll showcased in the second trailer is inferno 01.

Shulk is almost undoubtedly not in the game nor has anything to do with the game. This is most likely another monolithsoft red herring, like kosmos in japanese xenoblade print ads, and cian look alike in xenosaga. Its just something they like to do.

The city has a large tower in the center, with a percentage shown in huge numbers. (along with some hexadecimal scrolling numbers that dont seem to have a purpose other than looks).

My guess is thats the city's energy/fuel counter. And running out is bad. Im guessing many of the mission payoffs involve bringing fuel/energy back to the city as well as gold, exp, equipment etc.

Heres my speculation... I think this city is more than a city. I think that its like the thames, or a bigger Yggdrasil from xenogears, I think its a giant craft, that is basically a mobile city, and that tower shows just how much fuel it has left.

Makes sense to me from a game design standpoint as well.

Like xenogears, the dolls require fuel. They can only go so far before needing to be refueled... Which typically happens at the base. If this game really is as big as it looks like its going to be, traveling on foot is going to be entirely too slow to be practical for traveling long distance. Basically you travel via mech, then get out and explore more in depth.

Well, even those mechs have distance limits before needing to return and refuel (undoubtedly upgradable fuel tanks a la xenogears though) So.... Bring the base with you!!!

Just need to make sure it has enough fuel to move to its new destination full of new things to explore, and resources to collect!

#244325 Ninty have almost certainly not bought atlus

Posted by 3Dude on 05 September 2013 - 04:15 AM

very disapointing because Nintendo is sitting on this pile of money and they refuse to spend any of it which is really unfortunate because money is what makes good relationships with 3rd party devs and also what gets you great games

This is a pretty.... poor statement on a number of levels.

First off, buying atlus would make them 1st party, not 3rd party.

Second, Nintendo just purchased monolith soft two years ago, then promptly released a game that is unanimously declared one of the best of the generation. And according to monolith soft, that was just a 'test run' for what they really want to do.

They also just bought several brand new multimillion dollar buildings to expand the sizes of retro and monolith soft.

They also just COMPLETELY FUNDED two third party games.

They are GIVING AWAY DEVKITS AND LICENSED ENGINES FOR FREE.

Nintendo is a games only company. Sony and microsoft are giant conglomerates with a games division. Thats why they can burn so much more money than their games division is even worth. Neither sony, nor microsoft, has made a profit off of their consoles this gen. Yes, the ps3 and 360 HAVE become profitable the last few years, but those profits dont yet put a dent in all the money they lost before hand.

Trying to emulate that would be suicide for a games only company.

#242339 Michael Pachter thinks the 2DS it's a good idea!

Posted by 3Dude on 28 August 2013 - 02:26 PM

Its all right. If you pay attention to what hes actually saying.... Its a back handed compliment. Its actually a passive agressive insult against the 3ds, topped with that good old fashioned pachter ignorance.

#242218 Nintendo announces 2DS?

Posted by Bill Cipher on 28 August 2013 - 08:53 AM

Contrary to what everyone else here thinks, this is actually GENIUS when bundled with the price cut on Wii U. I'll try to explain it the best I can.

First off, Nintendo told Investors that they will make a major profit this year(I can't find the profit amount, I know it was HUGE, like 90 Billion yen or something). They then realize that the Wii U is floundering like a fish out of water and that the PS4, as it stands right now, is the giant grizzly bear that's looking for a snack(Think of Wii U as the fish where PS4 is the bear because of how it's powerful, being financed by a corporation that can take losses on hardware, etc). They then realize that they have to save the Wii U But ALSO that they still have that profit goal to make or investors will be furious with them.

They then realize that if you follow the web, there is one Nintendo game that is constantly being mentioned :Pokemon X/Y. However, at the current price that the 3DS is selling at, they can't expect to turn around and make massive profits in certain markets such as America. The best way speaking from a logistics standpoint is to have a lower priced version of the 3DS hardware that can play the 3DS Library including Pokemon. Obviously though, They can't price drop any of the 3DS current systems to a lower price due to them making minor profits at the moment. If you had to get rid of a feature on the 3DS to the drop the price, the smartest choice is the 3DS Screen. It's expensive compared to the rest of the system and from my experience with other 3DS owners it's rarely used. You could drop the DS compatibility, but if you're trying to sell this as THE DS model for a low price, you should cover all your bases.

This leads to the creation of the 2DS, which A) Allows for Nintendo to have a Lower Price 3DS that still has 90% of the functionality B ) Have a way to make Pokemon sell to ALL age groups, even those less fortunate in terms of finances(Yes, Pokemon is a $40 game, but you can get Pokemon AND a 2DS for $170. That's opening up a whole new market.) C) Allow for them to cut the Wii U price to $300 WITH a game, making it be $160 less then a PS4 with the same stuff(Yes, PS+ trial, but it's not a full game), and finally D) allows for them to finally begin to push the Wii U sales wise with it's games coming out this fall.

All in all, this is Nintendo going "We can't screw around the profits anymore. It's time to play Hardball." THIS is the Nintendo that consumers want to see, the one that is willing to think outside the box for ways to make profits and is willing to play aggressively with the price. Consumers win by getting a lower priced system, Nintendo wins by gaining a larger install base to sell games to, and Retailers win by having a reason to keep the Wii U on the shelves of stores.

#242212 Nintendo announces 2DS?

Posted by grahamf on 28 August 2013 - 08:35 AM

So, it says nintendo 2ds on the box and title screen, but plays games that say 3ds on the box. THIS IS SO NOT GOING TO CONFUSE THE GENERAL CONSUMER POPULACE!!!

The general public has probably tried to play 3DS games on a DS or DSi, so they should get over it.
