Project Guard acctually looked very interesting. A 3D tower defense based upon switching between security cameras

You haven't been watching the threehouse live stream. There's the real E3 coverage

And if it's a matter of money, they need to have DLC.  Pretty sure they will given that Mercedes deal.  I'd buy upgraded old tracks- and it couldn't hurt to throw in a bonus track or two.  Not to mention new cars, characters etc.

Just like Pikmin DLC? 5 tracks, first one comes free with the update. Or maybe an koopa pack, 4 tracks and the koopa troopa character

#281153 So close to absolute greatness

Posted by Akazury on 13 April 2014 - 12:09 AM

Let me rephrase. Nobody expects you to buy a VC game you already have with the console. The whole point of the VC is to offer old games, th way they were on their respective console. It's too open up classics to a new generation. If you'd go and add online multiplayer it'll take time, money and resources that can better be spend elsewhere besides that it would also up the price. It wouldn't be a €8 VC game rather it would be a €15 defenitive edition off an old game which isn't what the VC is for.

Now for online multiplayer in platformers as Mario and DK. The foremost reason it wouldn't work is lag, and now don't go tell me that there wouldn't be cause there always is. While lag in a 'fast paced' game as CoD, SSB  and such isn't very noticable it is deadly for a platformer. It means missing your platform, getting hit by a enemy or simply going off the screen. But what do you expect from online multiplayer on a platformer? Running around helping each other getting to the end or just going faster than the other and finish the level? That last one is in DKC:TF, it's called time attack and leaderboards and it works like a charm. You can even watch other people's runs.

I wanted to make clear that not all games benefit from online multiplayer and that the recources spend on them can be spend on better things. Now I do agree that some online functionality like Voice Chat would be great.

#275901 South Park RPG

Posted by Akazury on 05 March 2014 - 11:19 AM

Not been a big fan of South Park since the late 90's. I saw a quick look and has the humor and look. RPG mechanics looked rather basic. So a question to any who have gotten the game and many hours in. Does the novelty of it being South Park and if so does the gameplay get a little boring/tedious at that point?  I kinda want to get this game when it's super duper cheap but even then want to know if the game keeps your interest all the way through. I still have nostalgia over the N64 game despite how terrible it was and not played a South Park game since.

The game is filled with nods to the series and long time fans, it's great fun. I've spent hours exploring the town not even playing the main story. I must say that collecting the chinpokomon is fun butt the fart jokes are getting tedious. I'd say watch TB's WTF is, it gives you 40 min of gameplay with good coments about why it's good/bad.

#274297 DKC: Tropical Freeze only sells through 35% of its initial shipment in Japan.

That all Nintendo seems to do lately, platformers and rehashes of old games.

The same can be said for your comments, yet you keep on making them without any sign off having listened to what others told you. You're stuck in the same routine, yes you come out at a little bit at times like with the ND. Nintendo does it the evergreen way, slow start with great things along the lines which gives it momentum. Had those games in fact been Launch titles, they wouldn't have anything else to give.

People here keep saying that Nintendo needs a new Metroid, a new F-zero and a new Star Fox, but Nintendo is too stubborn to release them. While in fact they might just be smart enough. Those games only cater to the old nostalgia filled Nintendo 'fanboys.' Metroid would have to change so many things to appeal to what teens/kids nowadays are in to, it wouldn't work. Hell they've tried it, it didn't work. F-zero, I for one have never heard of it and hey I'm 18 so there's a real good chance I'm not alone on this. And Star Fox for god's sake, they remade it on the 3Ds, didn't do to well now did it. I totally get why they stay with the IP's that sell, cause it's sorta been proven that the lesser known and older ones just don't cut it.

Now in the other topic you asked me for how long the U will be the more diverse and it will be for quite a while. Part of the indies coming out on PS4 are also on the U and if they're not there are enough to cover for it. While third party may be small we are getting Batman Blackgate (I admit it's a port but it does break the dry spell a bit), there's still Hyrule warriors beat 'm up and with them licensing out Nintendo franchises, you just wait. And even if this wait takes up to E3 it won't matter to me cause I have faith in my system that it'll give me the fun and pleasure that I bought it for. Cause I remember the first time we saw the Gamepad at work, it created a whole virtual space around you. It was this tiny window which let you peek into a much bigger world, always active around you. I still believe in what I saw was possible and while Nintendo now focuses on the NFC I am excited to see what they'll bring to the table.

Now to finish my rant I've got a word of advice for you. If you dislike the U so munch that you need to Daisy about it almost every chance you have sell it and if you won't the STFU, cause nobody likes to hear you wine about how Nintendo cheated you with their E3 presentation, that the gamepad should have been an accessory instead of the main controller or that it has been gathering dust for months. I'll tell you this no matter how good Bayo2, X, SSMB will be and how much you'll be looking forward to them cause once released you'll haven't changed your mind and you know as well as I do, it'll never.

.

Omce again they are not chasing casuals. Their whole stragety is about finding new markets. The U is caught between the Wii and Nintendo's attempt to get back to the more hardcore gamers. So all the 'misfortune' could actually be blamed on them trying to go hardcore. (Like everybody wants them)

#274136 DKC: Tropical Freeze only sells through 35% of its initial shipment in Japan.

Non of these games are trying to, everyone can see that. Games that are trying are MK8, SSB, Bayo2 and X (and Zelda U technically). These triple A games are just appetizers, they haven't pulled out the big guns yet.

#272786 Would you be in favor of a "Star Club" payed membership?

Posted by Akazury on 16 February 2014 - 01:22 AM

Euhm, no. Most off these things should have been there on launch and while I wouldn't mind paying for cloud saving. I sure as hell aren't going to pay for voice chat. It's nice that you think about it but this is just looking in the wrong direction.
