Straight adventure game. Explore the town, talk to people, 'missions' are eitjer chores or the wild imaginations of children upon discovering whats mundane to us souless adults... And eventually other stuff I will not ruin for you.

Theres a collectable card battler game you play with monster cards you find made to emulate whatever silliness was popular during your time. Pogs or pokemon cards or what have you. Basically a more strategic than rock paper scissors.

All we know is japan went from an abysmal 6k to a poor 22k and down to a bad 10k from before to during to after the release.
