According to IGN In a separate statement, Nintendo reported that 455,000 units of hardware were sold in the U.S. in February, pushing 3DS past 8 million units to date. 180,000 copies of Fire Emblem Awakening were sold in the U.S. in February (117,000 at retail and 63,000 digitally). Nintendo added that "by comparison, the previous hand-held entrant in the franchise – Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon – has sold a little more than 250,000 units life to date in the United States."

Fire Emblem still needs to move more copies, but this is still rather impressive for a Fire Emblem game.

lol. I bet a lot of those digital sales were people unwilling to wait.

*Cue Nintendo now always releasing games on Tuesday for "accidental" shipping delays*

I'd actually be included in that. :P

On the bright side, if I ever need a break from Monster Hunter, I'll always have it on-hand.

So I married Cordelia. Apparently, Morgan and Severa are our daughters. Really shouldn't have a favorite child. -.-

I love this game. It's true perfection.Lunatic was insanely fun. My only complaint is Lunatic + Is way too luck based. Fire Emblem is my favorite IP and bt far this game is the best in the series. The voice acting was great. The cutscenes were amazingly done and it has a lot of replay value.

Yesterday we got our next piece of DLC, the first map for the "Smash Brethren" was released for $3.00 (the whole pack is $6.50). This DLC re-introduces Eirka from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. It also includes the new "Bride" class, a new female exclusive class.

"I was on the side that said we shouldn't include Casual mode to the end," project manager Masahiro Higuchi said in an interview with localization team 8-4. "It's that nuance ... If someone dies, you can't just go and resurrect them like in other games. You need to think more carefully about the value of the lives you're controlling in the game. It connects with the difficulty level, too – it makes you work your way through the game very carefully, which I think makes each victory all the more exhilarating."

"Personally, the first time I heard about [the idea of Casual mode], I was like 'no way,'" said Genki Yokota, director. "My boss brought up the idea, and just like Higuchi-san, I was angry at the thought of going too casual. But in the end, we figured giving players a choice would help expand the appeal of the game." Yokota now plays in casual mode, partly because he likes Awakening's characters and doesn't want to see them die. He's "pretty sure" casual mode will carry on in future games.

I can see why he didn't want a Casual Mode. When I played Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, I found myself always doing the hard chapters more than once. The usual routine was to lose a comrade unexpectedly, restart the game, then use much more strategy than before, and find a way to prevail without losing anyone. Fire Emblem has an awesome ability to make me really value the lives of the heroes you control, and you'd really want to move on without seeing a comrade die -- especially a favorite.

As for Fire Emblem: Awakening, the game has so many unique, awesome characters that I wasn't even going to think about using Classic Mode. Maybe I'll do that in a new save file for Lunatic Mode to get that Restart-vibe again. ^_^

The difference between Casual and Hard mode isn't that much different. The only difference is a couple more enemies. In fact I started on Hard mode instead of Casual.

You mean classic... And I think you're comparing normal to hard mode
