Idk if this was posted already but the 3ds might have another killer game coming and it's called IronFall a 3rd person shooter in the vain of Gears Of War. The dudes behind it are aiming at. 60!!!fps even with 3d use which is incredible if accomplished.

256 bones up to 64 skinned meshes? Thats gonna be some beefy firefights.
These two and their ubisoft hostage are doing more on 3ds than most 3rd parties have on wii u.

I know i'm late, but I just watched the trailer 10 minutes ago.<br />Amazing effort been put into it, I'm probably going to buy it just to reward the effort.
Ive been a fan of these two since the Amiga days. Especially their pioneering 3d work on handhelds. Unfortunately, some their titles were sold only in europe, fortunately, I was living in europe at the time, and systems werent region locked back then.
WHacky races gbc, stuntman gba, asterix and obelisk gba, driver 3 gba. All great tech showpeices for their platform, and all fun good games.
Im really looking forward to the fact they janked one of Ubisofts lead game directors, Mr Zimmer (Technical lead on Watchdogs.... Yes, that watchdogs...So is it vdz dev games now?) To bring their game side from good and fun to truly great.

The thing that I'm worried about is if this would actually turn out to be a good game or not. It will definitely be a showcase and it will control correctly, but what else is there? They have 3 tech guys, but that's it. I'm going to get it because I want a good shooter on my 3DS (I'm a bit burnt out on Kid Icarus Uprising amd good luck trying to play Snake Eater 3D with action, freaking 24 FPS with constant drops), but what else will this game be other than a showcase.
Vd dev has always been pretty good at making fun good games. Never quite great, but never all flash no substance.
Frederick Zimmer is, er was, the lead technical director of Ubisoft's Watchdogs.
A technical director is precisely, the thing you are looking for to avoid what you are afraid of, a technical director is in charge of not just determining if something is technically possible (he would have very little importance at vd dev for just that, he would be entirely unnecessary), but whether its worthwhile to do from a game perspective, and to further ensure that a game isnt just a tech showpeice, but a worthwhile game as well, to make sure the tech side, and the art side, and the game side make a worthwhile combination. They are often in charge of getting the team together, bogth programming and art teams, and then creating innovative gameplay hooks, and developing new techniques to overcome problems in production.
As a long time consumer of vd dev products, I am actually really looking forward to what Mr. Zimmer is bringing to the table.
