Great review as usual man.

But I wonder why it is that so many Wii U games seem to have problems with load times. Not framerate drops or anything else, always just load times.

I did mention it in my review, but it's because the bandwidth of the disc drive or USB 2.0 isn't NEARLY as high as that of a SATA internal hard drive.  The Wii U's disc drive, internal memory, and external HD via USB 2.0 all share bandwidth parity as Nintendo's way of making sure everyone has an equal experience across all forms of media, BUT... The caveat of this is the aforementioned lack of bandwidth compared to an internal HD like the PS3/PS4/XBox360/XBox1 use.  Nintendo highly optimizes their code and loading/streaming behavior, which explains why core Nintendo games never experience major load times, and in the case of SM3DW, no load times at all.

Oh okay. I do remember you mentioning the USB 2.0 thing, but the rest kind of went over my head :P

But I understand a little more now that it's in writing.

Glad I could help!

Episode 20 is here, and with Mario Kart 8 just around the bend, many Wii U owners will be looking to accessorize their Wii U!  So let's review some popular accessories, yeah?

*AUTO MERGED AND EDITED*

Hello friends and followers! This thread is temporarily changed to reflect my discussions about Nintendo@E3 2014 over the past four days, but will return to its normal form next week!  The videos of my discussion are below, but due to the limitation of embedded video thumbnails, the last two videos are links only:

 - 6/19 @ 12PM PST: Nintendo updates discussion; I will be talking about updates and hot discussion topics to games we already knew existed prior to the Digital Event!

 - 6/18 @ 12PM PST: "Nintendo Wants To Be With Fun" highlight reel!

 - 6/17 @ 12PM PST: Nintendo reveals discussion; I will be talking about the games we never knew existed until the Digital Event!

http://youtu.be/26jaQChnzok

 - 6/16 @ 12PM PST: "Nintendo Awakens" highlight reel

http://youtu.be/uRxhsb6361I

And THAT'S a wrap!  I hope you enjoyed the videos and discussions, and I'll see you all next week on the Wii U "Five"!

Hello, and welcome back to the regularly scheduled program!  After last week's four videos covering E3, things will go back to the less action-packed Thursdays at 12PM PST, haha!  With that said, this episode will most likely be my last Miiverse artist interview, and it's with one of the best Miiverse artists ever.  Enjoy!

Episode 24:

**AUTO-MERGED: NEW EPISODE 7/3/14**

Episode 25 is here (and wow, 1/4 of the way to 100 episodes!), and I review the Minish Cap since I never got to play it back when it released on the GBA.  It recently released on the GBA VC for the Wii U, so... why not, right?

Thread updated!

**AUTO-MERGED: NEW EPISODE 7/10/14**

I'm all about showing indie developers support, and with episode 26, I start several indie game reviews to come in a row starting with 'Shovel Knight'!

Only suggestion is maybe to subtitles next time you do an interview. It can be hard to distinguish sometimes with the crappy audio quality (I know that's not your fault, but still) varying volumes and different accents (not something I normally have a problem with, but some people do).

And I know the vid has a close caption option, but it translates "Art academy, I'd say..." as "Slackers loops contra from our bureau" so close, but not quite right.

Even though responding to this means my next post will get auto-merged (lol), I have to say...

I did consider going through and creating subtitles for everything manually for this episode (because that's what I'd have to do, which would be very painstaking btw), but weighed it against what she was actually saying and her art, and saved the time of doing so since her art was really the standout here.  I DO, however, thoroughly understand why subtitles might have been necessary in her case, and how that can frustrate a more avid listener who isn't enamored by her fabulous artwork.

Having said that, I did NOT know her accent was that strong until I interviewed her, and I did warn her myself that some may have trouble understanding her.  Admittedly, even when editing it, I had some trouble with certain parts where I had to replay over it a few times to make sure I heard it right.  And this is coming from a guy who's #1 favorite TV show of all time is Top Gear (the proper, original, UK one)!  So I'm actually used to her accent

i lived in britain for 4 years, continued to grow up with british tv after i moved and accents are kinda my thing, so like I said, no problems there for me :P

But yeah i can see it being a pain in the butt.

So my suggestion now is to buy yourself a studio and start hiring staff who can do that sort of thing for you :) (kidding obviously)

**AUTO-MERGED - Adding Episode 28**

My third and final (for now) indie game review is up, and it's for the Wii U exclusive 'Armillo'!  What's it like?  Have you even heard of it?  Watch my review to learn all about it!

Episode 28:

***AUTO-MERGED - Adding Episode 29***

With episode 29, I return (finally) to having a live guest on the show!  Jessica rides a sport bike and drives a muscle car... So is she the right person for the right game?  Let's find out!

Congrats on your first 6 months! ^_^

I don`t think i have seen you do this, but you can end your videos with a slideshow of the miiverse you liked the most (or asked to be sent to you) with people`s name on it; ask a question regarding a certain topic, with the best answer being read on your show or incite conversation on the page of the video.

Stuff like that might engage more people.

Interviewing people is always fun because I get to learn new things and meet new and interesting folks!  Today we have a gamer girl who is also a cosplayer (and does regular modeling, too!).  To top THAT off, my next giveaway is also announced and tied to this episode! :)

Thanks!

Enjoy!

Many people picked up a Wii U for Mario Kart 8, and they also did it because you got to choose from a free game.  This free game was often Pikmin 3, but many people have yet to play it!  Then again, people who didn't get it free should still buy this must-own game!

I'm actually one of those people you were talking to in the video.

The only thing stopping me from playing the game though is the fact I have a couple others I'm trying to complete, and I don't like starting games before I've finished the othrs I already own...

Also I never said I was pervy, just that it was *ahem* hard to focus,...

I never thought I'd do anything musical, but here it is! My first time writing lyrics and rapping, and it's for the Wii U!  This project was one hell of an ordeal, despite what it looks like, for one guy all by himself!  I also give props to my sister for finding the time to help me out with recording and producing the song itself!

Enjoy!
