We shouldn't get too excited over Nintendo Network.

This article says that it is nothing more than Nintendo WFC:
http://mynintendonew...e-and-the-same/

In other words, Nintendo Network is nothing more than the icon in the corner that says,"Hey, you can play this online!"

I still think the actual service should be call Club Nintendo.....

The MyNintendoNews story doesn't actually say anything - NoE and NoA reps are never up to date on the latest in Japan. The Japanese and European releases of Mario Kart 7 said 'connecting to Nintendo Network' instead of 'the internet,' as it did in North America, or to 'Nintendo Wi-Fi,' as internet connection messages said on the DS. The Nintendo of Europe rep is making this comment based entirely on the interchangeable use of 'Nintendo Network' in the European release of the game - not the new Nintendo Network logo, service, or domain name in Japan.

Nintendo Network was only just leaked and made apparent to exist in just the past few days as the 3D Photo Contest in Japan got going and the Theatrhythm box art was released. No western branch of Nintendo is in the know or about to comment - let alone definitively - on the new Nintendo Network information we've just seen. Nintendo of Japan hasn't even commented yet, and they're only likely to do so and finally unveil Nintendo Network for what it actually is during the new conference coming up later this week.

In short, a phone rep from Europe's input in this case has nothing to do with the new Nintendo Network logo or rumors we've heard lately. In fact, a mere Nintendo WFC rebrand wouldn't make sense - we already have a simpler internet rebrand on the 3DS with a little globe icon for the internet on the back of 3DS cases for games with online features to signify internet content in the game.

I agree we have to wait and see from Nintendo of Japan to make an official announcement.

So here are the details for the Wii U's online system.

-Wii U to get individual online accounts
-Online profile not tied to system
-Wii U can have multiple system accounts per console
-Nintendo exploring idea of selling digital versions of full retail games
-Paid downloadable content

Sounds awesome, goot to see that Nintendo is embracing online.

So Nintendo Network is the official name. That's very good. I'm happy to see Nintendo taking their online service seriously now.
I'm going to go ahead and nickname this online service the 'N-Work'. :)

Lemme see how this sounds.

Go on N-work
Go on Network
Go on NN

PSN OH NN

Imma stick to N-work or NN

Damn, I just realised that you beat me to it. :P

U Online. I think the "U" theme is a good one. U-Connect is good, too, but U Online or "U ON" for short is cool as well.
