#183573 What will you do if the Wii U is Nintendo's last ever console?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 17 March 2013 - 07:25 AM

I think it probably will be their last console, not because I think they'll drop out of the industry, but because I think the idea of traditional "game consoles" is going to be phased out over the course of the 8th gen and going into the 9th gen. Hardware is likely going to become a lot more open, more customisable and such, so it'll be interesting to see how Nintendo adapts to that.

But if they did drop out of the industry all together, I don't think much would change for me. I already use the PC as my main platform, PlayStation for most multiplats, and Xbox for the few good MS exclusives.

That was actually legitimately amazing IMO. I was totally not expecting them to reveal Monolith Soft's game so early, and it looks just as good as I expected. Yoshi was a nice surprise, and I'm so glad that Ninty decided to one-up Sony/MS/Third parties by properly remaking Wind Waker rather than just slapping it into 720p.

All in all, brilliant Nintendo Direct. Can't wait for 3D Mario, Mario Kart and SSB4 at E3. :o

and did you notice the only major developer not mentioned was Retro?

Retro will most likely be at E3. And you know their game's gonna be some top notch stuff, so the wait's entirely worth it I think.

#153568 Big Pokemon Announcement Coming on January 8th

Hope it's Gen 6 for the 3DS. I want R/S/E remakes as much as anyone else, but I'd prefer to see something properly new first. With a new gen and new hardware it leaves a lot for Gamefreak to experiment with.

#123660 So, I E-Mailed Rockstar Support On GTA V For Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 02 November 2012 - 05:41 AM

It's definitely not coming at launch, but I wouldn't rule out a later port guys.

Rockstar certainly dropped the ball here when it came to platforms though. They have the money, they have the resources, and it's GTA for christ sake, it'll sell on anything.

Remember that the PC version hasn't been confirmed yet either though guys. So maybe R* will be nice and give both PC and Wii U their own special edition release on the same day this time next year. ^_^

#122465 WE MUST NOT LET THE WII U FORUMS DIE!

Posted by Deadly Virus on 29 October 2012 - 01:46 PM

I think the Wii U launch will only make us more active. We'll actually be able to discuss games we're playing and all then. Maybe we can get a few events going for CoD:BO2 or some other multiplayer-heavy game. :o

#120188 Why I Would Like TES V: Skyrim on Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 21 October 2012 - 10:14 PM

I'd be OK if Skyrim didn't come....IF... the successor comes on the Wii U. I've played every elder scrolls...since unlike most on this forum...I'm old Lol.

I've played every TES since Morrowind. I feel like I might need to get around to trying Arena and Daggerfall sometime though.

#120049 Why I Would Like TES V: Skyrim on Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 21 October 2012 - 02:15 PM

It's a bit late for Skyrim on Wii U I think, but if by some chance it does happen, well, the more games the better I guess.

I'm more concerned about future Bethesda titles though. TES VI and Fallout 4, etc. Especially Fallout. Don't tell me that the Wii U pad wouldn't work AMAZINGLY as a Pip Boy. :o

Now I won't be able to resist the urge to get Superman the Blastoise back next time I play Pokemon.

#114068 Metal Gear Rising Revengeance coming to Wii U? Shows off real power?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 01 October 2012 - 04:27 AM

I'd love to believe this, but where's this guy's proof? The interview clip he showed didn't really answer the question of whether or not there'll be a Wii U version, neither did the trailer.

#112879 Dont Buy ME 3 for Wii U , Wii EA

Posted by Deadly Virus on 26 September 2012 - 08:33 AM

So, who's betting EA's going to withdraw almost all hardcore support for the Wii U when ME3 inevitably flops and they blame it on the consumers? -_-

#108639 Rare Employees Would Have Stayed With Nintendo If They Were Still With Nintendo

Posted by Deadly Virus on 16 September 2012 - 11:56 AM

It's not all Microsoft's fault, guys. A little known secret is that in 2001 when Rare was seeking someone to buy them out, the first company they went to before anyone else was Nintendo. Nintendo turned down the offer as they thought Rare was charging too high a price, leading them to chase after a third party buyer instead. By 2002 it seemed like Activision was the most likely to take ownership of the company, until Microsoft stepped in out of a desire to attach some high profile developers to the newly launched Xbox while simultaneously denying Nintendo access to those same games.

So if you're looking for anyone to blame, you might want to shift your attention to Ninty first. MS did absolutely horribly in managing Rare after the buyout, but to say that they "stole" them from Nintendo is completely inaccurate.
