I suspect it'll be the same for a lot of people. I just got Assassins Creed for Xbox One. There's no point buying a lower quality version is there?

I'm talking about PS4 5 years from now vs Wii U now with better engines and knowledge of hardware, which of coarse isn't a fair comparison.
But if you cut all the multitasking from PS4 it would be far above Wii U (but you could do the same for Wii U to compensate. I'm just talking hypnotically, not like they'll do any of this)

Or from what we have learned of them, for all we know the PS4/Xbox One specs sucks compared to Wii U and they only beat it in ram so they can pretend they are better ;P (Not saying it is like that, but we can't know for sure until someone opens the PS4/Xbox One)

 

So what you are saying is that assuming the PS4 is far superior to the Wii U it would be safe to assume the PS4 is superior to the Wii U??

First off, who is this "you people"? I'm just stating that Wii U isn't next gen technology. I never said that I don't classify as a next-generation system. I do, but the tech in it, isn't.

Here's the problem, the tech in it, is.  As I have said multiple times, none of the technology, not the CPU, not the GPU, not the RAM, not NFC, not the wireless video standard, none of it, was available last gen.

 

The GPU is completely custom and completely new, with one component, programmable shaders, derived from an AMD reference that wasn't available last gen.  The shaders account for less than half of the GPU logic.

 

The CPU is a custom IBM chip based on Power7 architecture and uses the PowerISA2.06 instruction set, neither were available last gen.

 

DDR3 was not in production until two years after last gen started.

 

The GPU is 40nm, the CPU 45nm, a process that was not available at the start of last gen.

 

So, before you start talking about whether the tech is "last-gen" or not, actually look at the components and when the underlying technologies became available not commercially, but industrially, before making the statement.

 

And "you people" refers to a group of people who constantly parrot one another with baseless claims derived from ignorance.

Nope they are making business decision that just don't include Wii U. Sad but that's their right to do what they want with their company.

That wasn't the question.  They are in fact trying to shape the hardware landscape based not on business decisions (they poured money into Crysis3 for WiiU then made sure they made zero profit, bad business)(they released ME3 for $60 on WiiU and released the trilogy on other platforms at the same price, intentionally cannibalizing ME3 sales, bad business) but on bad business relations.  What they are doing to Nintendo transcends smart money moves, as none of their decisions to date have been smart money moves.  

 

They are within their rights to develop where they want, but lets not get confused as to the reason.  EA believe they control the gaming industry, and Nintendo got in their way of making that pipedream a reality.

 

Making comments that are obvious bald faced lies through social media and press releases is not based on a business decision, its based on a want to destroy any possibility of Nintendo succeeding without EA games now that they have made their choices.  If Nintendo succeeds, without any EA titles in the future on the platform, how does that make EA look?  

Jesus. It's like no one has any patience anymore. This is how it ALWAYS is when you're a first adopter. Anyone whining should've waited until more games released before they caved in and purchased the console early. I can't wait until these complaints are gone by the end of the year. It's sickening. If after a year things don't change, then feel free to say the Wii U is doomed. (Just like the Vita is right now.)

We all know Digital Foundry are pro Microsoft.

The comment section is also littered with 360 fanboys that really should of gotten used to newer consoles being more powerful and containing more modern tech like when PS3 came out, but no they still try to make the ancient 360 sound relevant.

Wii U destroys the 360 in graphical capabilities, memory, disc capacity + speed, build quality and engineering. The very same fanboys that litter these pro American sites should try some Preperation H, I hear it's good for butthurt conditions.

I don't see the problem, nsmbu and zombiu are great games worth more than a few hours, surely we could get a few months out of them for the price we have to pay for games these days.

I blame entitled-feeling children for making a mountain out of not having a new game in two weeks.

Somehow it seems legit. I think because Sony usually steals stuff from Nintendo.

I love the pro controller and mine gets tons of use. If your not planning on playing games that use it...Why buy it? Also if you don't like using the gamepad.. Why own a Wii U?

I went to Nintendo.com's support page and they are looking to fix these issues with a future update. So try to stop moaning people.This is really annoying!
