Why always show so much of who is playing the game and their overacted faces and movements instead of focusing on what the game is about?
All you know about the game now is there are big monsters and you can play with other people...

I'd rather see a boy in a fight with a real dragon but people like to be identified as social beings. This makes it more of an illusion but most buyers will think, ah this might be nice to play, maybe for their kids. True, towards the core gamer this is not what you'd want but do core gamers need commercials, nah, they already made up their mind with previews, reviews, forums, demo's and so on. This is not for us but for the common folk.
If I'd see a commercial about a game on TV I'd like to know what the game is really about, sort of like a short review without spoilers.
All this showed was people playing a game and having fun, something you see in every other commercial, but fails to explain why its fun.
I don't enjoy every game like people do in commercials, so why should this one stand out.
Then again, I can't think of any commercial that's ever enticed me to buy anything really, so maybe I shouldn't go on personal experience.

Just letting people know that I created a help thread in the help section. Initial post contains info on basic mechanics that I've seen far too many people make mistakes about. There is one section that rookies and vets alike should read. Its how the charm system works this time around. Otherwise, if you have the strategy guide, you probably won't need it. Though I would appreciate those with the strategy guide helping out.

I was able to get the E-guide from BradyGames free with my pre-order, will be happy to contribute from it.

Well, it clearly showed all of the aspects of the game: the single player, 3DS co-op, 3DS-Wii U co-op, file transfer, and online play with voice chat. The expressions were exaggerated, but they showed that you will be frustrated, then determined, then excited when you beat it. I personally thought it was the best Wii U ad so far, certainly a lot better than the multicolored cubes.

Well to me it only showed you fight big monsters with multiple people, I assume the game has a story 'n stuff .
It also has a very different combat system than other games.
I agree its better than some other adverts, but simply being better doesn't mean good.
Maybe I'm just being extra harsh cause of the overacting (something I can't stand )

The most you're going to get from Monster Hunter in terms of story is, "There's a big monster attacking the village! Kill it!" Most of the game is gathering resources to make armor and weapons to fight big monsters, but showing a bunch of collecting wouldn't make for a good showing. It also has a very different combat system than other games.

Either they buffed the hell out of the switch axe, or they nerfed the heck outta the first rank of monsters.
Definately makes for a much smoother difficulty curb id imagine.
Does switch axe have ko power now? Or do you no longer have to knock out kelbi's?......
Minor note, for questions there's a thread I started here:
http://thewiiu.com/t...te-help-thread/
As for your questions:
They kind of did both. The switch axe's damage modifier in how the game calculates damage got changed, making it stronger per indicated strength. Also, the monsters are usually made weaker for games that are originally made for portable consoles like the 3ds. They simply didn't make them stronger for the wii u version.
You no longer have to worry about purposefully KO'ing kelbi. They get auto KO'd when you kill them. There is now an exhaust phial for the switch axe which I believe can be used to KO monsters though.
