I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

I think people are confusing OS with day 1 update. The OS is 4GB. The day 1 update will take an amount of space we don't know.
Exactly what I said!

in a near future you would like to purchase a 500GB external HDD for 50 or 60 bucks, the average cost of a game, is not that expensive for all the storage it offers

From what I understand is you can't partition it and the Wii U makes you format the drive the first time you connect it.I bought the deluxe but I also have an external 2TB USB drive that I'll be using. I don't imagine I'll ever be able to fill it though (I've got all my emulators/roms on it as well).

You're gonna want to move those to your computer because the Wii U is going to format them in order for it to work.I bought the deluxe but I also have an external 2TB USB drive that I'll be using. I don't imagine I'll ever be able to fill it though (I've got all my emulators/roms on it as well).
I will not die until I achieve something. Even though the ordeal is high, I never give in. Therefore, I die with no regrets~Ikaruga Prologue

So is the update 4G or the OS?

The OS takes up 4gb, we don't know how big the update is yet.
