Augh, I hope this doesn't eventually lead to the downfall of physical games...
(although inevitable)

Not on day 1, Shibata said they'd be working toward backdating them all in.I assume each 3Ds title, both physical and indie/digital will have it's own community too?

If you haven't begun to pick up on what I've implied in the past, yes, I'm planning on stepping down as admin soon. This isn't an announcement and I'm not planning on stepping down just quite yet, but I figured I would write a bit of a story every (few) day(s). A bit about me, a bit about feldo, a bit about the previous forum we were on, a bit about the other users, Elric, Trite, and a few others who left this site. A bit about the pony "invasion" and feldo leaving. A bit about chat, and other nonsense.
I'll just begin writing from the beginning, taking a break or stopping here and there. Don't really care much for chapters or parts, but whatever.

It probably started off like any other person's experience with the internet. I had no experience with online communities and dial-up was pretty awful, so I spent most of my time looking up video game sites. I always frequented geocities and angelfire sites, most of which were just full of crap. But hey, I always wanted to play as Luigi in Super Mario 64, shoot a dead mario out of a cannon, catch mew and the "pokegods", or attempt to get misty to take her clothes off in pokemon yellow (the most memorable "cheat" I remember looking up).
After some time passed, my friend, who you all know of as Elric, showed me this "neat" site called yoshiart.com. Around this time, I would say I was probably 9 or 10, (around 2005). I was a pretty big fan of yoshi at the time and was amazed that there was a site dedicated to the character and art about the character. Little did I truly know who ran the site and what the ride was going to be like.

Looking back on it now, it's pretty interesting that the site was run by a raging furry. But it was also the site where I met feldo, where he got his reputation as a writer, and how he split off to begin his own secret yoshi site project, which is essentially the spirit of the MLP forums today.
I'll be going through this linearly and updating it when I can. It just might be interesting to find out what sort of person feldo was before ponies, or even WUF. His relationship with Soul, the admin of YAF, is also an interesting one.
I'm not going to go too in depth about YAF itself, just some of the general stuff and how it shut down. Somethingawful and Encyclopedia Dramatica have pretty accurate depictions of the site.
Feldo also has a good portion of the forum archived if anyone is interested.

My third year going and I got to play a lot this year.
Super Mario 3D World: Graphically appealing, the graphics are great. Seeing it in person does the game justice, not saying that the trailers doesn't do a good enough job, but it's much more visually appealing in person. I think I played on of the first levels, and I got paired with a girl, a lady, and her son. Of course the girl only really need to play, she was a gamer after all, the other two were dead weight. It plays similar to 3D Land and the controls are easy to get used to. We got to use the cat suit, but I'm not too used to it, the mechanics of it feel awkward to me. Overall it was a solid experience, and what you expect, stomp, stomp, stomp get to the end of the level. You also can collect green stars and collect more time to explore the level. I saw the water level they've been demoing a few times in the trailer, and its beautiful.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze: Plays exactly like Donkey Kong Country Returns. The Nintendo rep had us play with the Wiimote and Nunchuck and told us in the final version you'd be able to use just the Wiimote. Anyway, we did the boss battle, and surprisingly enough, the boss didn't die in three hits. It's the walrus from the trailers, and he slides up and down the ramp, and you have to time your jump and jump on him. Eventually he sends fish raining from above, and you have to either dodge them or jump on them to kill them. Once you get halfway through the fight he'll become more aggressive and start sliding up and down the ramp faster, and he'll summon more fishes and his pattern changes. Overall I think it took 12 hits or maybe 10 to kill him. It's a solid experience, stays accurate to the DKC series.
Sonic Lost World: It's great, although I'm not a fan on Sonic, I'll definitely get this. It's definitely what you expect from Sonic, going fast, homing attacks, trying to beat the level as fast as you can, collect stuff. There's also some levels from older games (Sonic Colors). It's definitely appealing, but if you aren't a fan of the series you probably won't like it unless you're thirsty for Wii U games.
Bayonetta 2 was surprisingly playable and it's outstandingly beautiful in person. The game is definitely fast-paced, there's no denying that it's not 1080p 60FPS. I didn't get to play because of the lonnnnng line, but its definitely a game worth checking out.
I played Watchdogs too and it's pretty cool with the Wii U gamepad. I couldn't touch stuff like The Legend of Zelda 3DS game, Mario Party, etc because of so many people but they were there and Nintendo had the 3DSs hooked to a 15 or 12 inch TV so you could of seen the gameplay even without playing firsthand. Pokemon X & Y were there too along with Mario & Sonic ATWO2014.
Microsoft and Sony didn't have any presence at the conference and there were no PS4 and XBONE demo stations from what I saw when I went around twice. Overall it was solid fun and I can't wait to do it again.

I would make a Persona 4 joke but I'm not sure if anyone would get it.
"YOU NEED TO EAT MORE MEAT!"
"Don't think, feel..."
"Steeeeeeak?!"
"'fsteak fskewers"
"The traditional food of Inaba is steak, so we figured we'd also do our part"
"The loser has to buy steak skewers for everyone"

I'm not liking the Fennekin evolution, if only because I'm worried it will become fire/fighting AGAIN.
It's confirmed that it can learn 3 physic moves and a "Glow Punch" which to me doesn't sound like a fighting move. It's not going to be fighting type.
Also I wouldn't get upset with these evolutions, secondary evolutions have never looked good, look at Wartortal, Croconaw, Combusken, Marshtomp, Monferno, Pignite. All terrible but turn into great pokemon.

Huh?

No problem. This is just from the top of my head, so I may be missing some eshop titles or something. The Wii U has a good upscaler, and it's difficult to tell 1080p and 720p apart from a certain distance unless you have a really big TV, so sacrificing 1080p for some extra effects or a snoother framerate might be better in some developer's eyes, as was the case with Nano Assault Neo.Thanks for the info.
