So Gamexplain did a comparison of the 3 Retro Tracks shown in Mario Kart 8, and holy crap I can't even recognize Dry Dry Desert.

Looks like adaptive tesselation and original uncompressed textures for the music track and sewer track.... And of course the biggest difference is simply being done on wii u with the new rendering pipeline.
As for Dry dry desert... Im not so sure that actually IS dry dry desert.

After playing Double Dash for a bit, I can confirm that is indeed Dry Dry Desert: it's just that the sand looks so much better, so it's hard to recognize it.

You will LOVE it! Play super mario 64, super mario sunshine, super mario galaxy, and super mario galaxy 2! Don't bother with 3D land/3D world! Those aren't 3D mario games! They are just things ninty made for a quick buck!

The only 3D Mario game I played was Super Mario 64, many years ago, but I tried 3D Land and it was pretty bad, it made me sad because I love (almost all) 2D Mario games.

I just finished GiTS Stand Alone Complex, what an amazing series. Too bad 2nd gig isn't on youtube, so I had to order it off amazon. It's a good thing I got a raise and more hours this summer, as I can actually buy a few things before college starts up...
