I didn't play a whole lot of the Pikmin games, but what I did play I liked. I can see myself picking a copy of Pikmin 3 when it comes out, and I might play it entirely through. A good question is, how would they make use of the controller?

But I won't troll you, I'll answer the question.
I haven't actually played the Pikmin games myself, but I think the controller could be used in away that the buttons are more for controlling Olimar, and that the touchscreen would be used to command Pikmin. Remember, this was in part developed for Wii originally, so there's bound to be some motion controls to it. Whether or not this means their original control schemes were updated for the Wii U, I have no idea.
Taking this idea from ExplosionKody, they could set it up where one character (Olimar) has Daytime segments, while another (Louie) could have nightshifts, using a few new species of Pikmin adapted for night time labour.
I can see the touchscreen being used to sort out all sorts of pre-action options, kind of like choosing what strategy you want before deploying your Pikmin. Setting up how to battle, how to gather, how to explore, how to patrol etc. etc.
I'm not familiar with the franchise myself, so I can go beyond that. Most of what I learned of it has been from SSBB information excerpts and ExplosionKody's video (yes I watched).

That sounds so bad it`s good. But seriously, Pikmin is pretty hardcore, especially the first one with its limits and difficulty.Give Olimar a bayoneted gatling gun. Game is hardcore now.

oh man, I can imagine that... A fight to the death, using only pikmins and olimar... and the other guy, whatever he's called. One player has olimar, the other has the other guy. You send you pikmin to the other team and whoevers guy is last standing winsI think they should put two player in it
Well they most likely will but just thought I'd say
